WOW....I think I only got one post in last month and the month is gone! Not that that is too strange this year as there are several months I only got one post in...but I will try to do better....I was just surprised how quickly October flew by!
Antonio turned 11 in October! and Darlene finshed his wallaby for him and he had a birthday party at Dave and Busters!
I knitted a couple of hats for Trentons soon to be here baby...her name is Ava!
Then I made Shyla a slouchy hat....in black of course!
I got some yarn to make Peyton a hat.....her team colors are maroon and white....oh, and her color guard and band team is going to STATE! They are so awesome and I am so proud of her and happy for her!
I also got new bag from Elizabeth....it is one of her Holiday bags!
So why not put the new hat in the new bag!
I got an MKAL kit from the amazing Louise Roberts to do her MKAL that started 10/7/22

I started a new sweater with some of Louise's Granola Base yarn...this yarn is so wonderful!
I got my October yarn for my blanket...and finished it in October:
I saw my sister recently and a pair of socks I made her need darning....so I dug through my scraps (used yarn) to find the color I used for her heels and toes
Well, I am feeling much better! Apparently I was feeling worse than I thought last week because I just realized that I never published last weeks blog post......GRRRRRRR....if you are interested, I finally posted it here.
I still have a few days of antibiotics and I cannot wait to finish them....they make my mouth taste like metal...LOL!
So what have I been up to? Well, I finished the Augusta Shawl!
And then worked on my friend's Parallel Waves Shawl....I got like 25 more rows done (from the stitch marker in the picture all the way up)....I still need about 50 more rows to finish.
Then Paige told me that Bizzle (her best friend) is about to have a nephew (Bizzle's brother's wife is due) and the baby shower is Sunday at noon (she told me this on Saturday).....
I sent her pics of blue yarn
She picked the dark one......Then Jaime and I went to have nachos and Margaritas :)
Yup, in the midst of knitting emergency, we had date night.
So on Sunday I cast on the hat for Paige and finished in a few hours....and she thinks I am amazing :)
I was also very proud of Paige....she went to give free back to school hair cuts this past weekend.
The only other thing I knit on this week was my hitofude....I am still not caught up because I started over a week later...but I am still trying to catch up. LOL!
Lastly, I got a new t-shirt that I love! It is a little snug (I need to loose weight) so I ordered a man's size too in red, but it has not come in yet.
It is getting cooler and cooler each morning and I am loving the weather.....it means I can pull out some blankets and heavy things to knit on! I do have a little bit of a sore throat with the cold front, but I hope it goes away.
This past week was a bit of a bust in the knitting department. I blogged last Tuesday (a day late because of the holiday)...then on Wednesday I got sick....some stomach bug I think, but I was very weak (I think from dehydration) and had fever and chills. I slept most of Wednesday and the morning of Thursday too...till around noon when I think my fever finally broke.
Then this past Friday/Saturday I had Antonio and Celeste, and yesterday Darlene and I podcasted with a special guest....her granddaughter, Peyton!
So what did I work on?
Well, Paige has a client whose wife had a baby boy....so Paige asked me to make a navy blue hat.
I worked on Paige's Dishtowels.....and I finished them! Yahoo! The kitchen cotton was starting to hut my hands, so I am glad these are done!
I also worked on her pot holder...but I did talk to my friend in Florida that makes these potholders...and while I will finish this one, I am sending yarn to my friend to make more for Paige and paying her....I am just not good at it and I want Paige to have nice potholders:

Then I worked on my Daddy's Ranger...I started a sleeve:
I had two stash enhancements....some fabulous self striping yarn from Biscotte Yarns...Thank you Louise!
And a Slothmas set that Darlene did with Carie from the Creative Obsession. These items are available separate, but not as a kit anymore.
I had all the grandkids this past weekend....they wore me out but I love them so much!
Paige got her furniture...and now has a place to sit.

Okay...I promise I will not sing to you, but it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. I got out my Christmas tree yesterday, put it up, pulled out the lights and had to throw away almost 3 strands of lights.....so I have a few lights on the bottom, and I have all the ornaments on it....but I still need to finish off with more lights. I do not have a picture of mine....but I do have a picture of Paige's....her roommate, Bizzle, only likes real trees....so they got a real tree and got it all decorated.....Antonio was sooooooo super excited!

Remember the Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock Yarn I got last week? It was an awesome early Christmas present from my BFF Darlene......well, I loved the yarn and colorway so much......I FINISHED THE SOCKS! Yup...with all the UFO's I need to get working on, I made a pair of socks....but I love them, and they are for ME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Paige's friend had her baby early, so I finished the last hat.....now she has small, medium, and large to choose from.
My sister recently returned from Europe and brought me some European crack (at least to me) from my relatives....Thank you Tante Mecki, Uncle Dieter, and Cousins Sabine and Dagmar!
This is the best chap stick in the world....Labello.....and the best candy in the world....MaoaM!!!
I also worked on Little Mario's baby's blanket....I am just about at the 1/2 way point!
I worked on Paige's sweater too, but only about 5-6 rows (hey, they are over 300 stitches each).....and I also had a Club Delivery today....it is Miss Babs Knitting Tour Final Destination of 2014.....this is Isadora Yarn (A heavy lace with 70% merino wool and 30% tussah silk) and the pattern is by Joji Locatelli.....I love this designer and have several of her designs in my que. It is called "A Day to Remember" The closeup of the yarn is the best coloring I can capture. There are lots of extras (as always with Miss Babs Tour)....the band around the yarn is a leather bracelet that says "Must Knit Faster" by CJohannesen Studio. Today was also the day to buy next year's tour.....and I got mine!
I am also participating in a Secret Santa Exchange and my package went out to the recipient today! I hope she likes it....I cannot wait to get mine! While I was shopping for my Secret Santa Sister, I came across some wax warmers.....let me tell you, I have tons of candle wax (scentsy)....and it seems my holders to melt them ( also scentsy) are always breaking. Plus, I have a lot of the plug in the wall (like a night light) and the grand kids think all those are too interesting, so I have to go with ones I put up high on a shelf and then a cord plugs in to warm up the wax.....well, I found the cutest Knit Cable Pattern ones....whatcha' think? I have not decided if I am going to gift them to others, or keep for myself (they were initially bought to keep for me).
Lastly, the lady that heads up all the HiyaHiya stuff asked me to make a video of her grandma's stretchy bind off......so I did. This is for a toe up sock and it is for a k1, p1 ribbing.....I used it on my Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock socks....and it is stretchy!
That is all I have.......oh, one more thing....a friend of mine on LSSK found these cute IOU labels.....so just in case you are a little behind on your Christmas knitting but still want to wrap something and put it under the tree......print this out, fill it out, put it in a box and wrap it!
