Happy New Year!!!

Hello everyone....Yes I know it has been forever since I posted, and I am sorry....but I was busy with a certain cardigan....LOL!  Can you believe it is 2024?  I know!  WOW!

First....Here is my Christmas.....

Second.....for the present you have all been wanting to know....Grace's Cardigan/Sweater.

Here is what she asked for:

I knit one sleeve and it was too small, so I had to start over with the sleeves and get them attached.

Then the raglan/yoke/top part......

Finished and blocking...the collar is not what I envisioned.....she might have recvd the cardigan a touch wet (since it had not completely dried), and I offered to fix the collar (I had run out of time)

But.....she loved it!

The week after Christmas, I had Antonio a few days and made this really delicious sandwich (sorry for the non fancy paper plate...LOL)!

Which made me want to make bread....but first I needed a dutch oven

and.....nope, not the prettiest loaf, but not bad for a first try.

I got some yarn at the end of the year for a sweater for me.

and I saw someone else post their monthly shawl yarn....but a completely different pattern......I loved it, so had to share....it is called the sunshower shawl. picture copyright EggInMyHair on Ravelry

Now, while I took a tiny break from frantic knitting (for my deadline), I am back at it.....knitting for Darlene's Birthday present (her bday is January 22nd...so just 20 more days)....this is a lap blanket with the same yarn I used to make her a shawl last year.  She loved the shawl and said it would be a great lap blanket.  It is only aboout 25 inches wide (I hope that is wide enough...I was going for 28" wide, but clearly I cannot count)...but I will make it at least 30"-36" tall, so go from lap to feet.

That is really all I have....sorry for the time in between posts....Hopefully I will get my rear in gear for the new year!

I was able to give Darlene her presents....I finished the boxy cape (and did not get a pic of it finished), I can show the Test Knit Advent Stole I made her:

Plus a cute yarn ball knick knack holder

Some PJ's and some stitch markers with numbers on them for when casting on you know how many stitches you have done already.

That is really all I have....Yall have a great week!

Happy Mother's Day!

HI everyone....I am just about to get ready to go to my sister's lake house to kick off a Mother's Day weekend.  We will be eating my mother's cannelloni tonight, then massages (me, my mom, sister and niece...Paige could not make it) for all the girls Saturday morning.....Antonio has golf on Sunday and I have a workout with Paige Sunday morning with our usual Sunday morning trainer, Ped.

I hope y'all have a wonderful Mother's Day!

What have I been working on?  Pretty much only 2 things.  I started a wallaby for Antonio....in red.   I have been meaning to start this wallaby for like 2 years....but I finally started it.

I got yarn to make Shyla a Mae sweater

I won a pair of needles from Knitters Pride....

and while this was exciting, my bubble was quickly burst when I realized they (the companies that do give a ways) like to look good by saying I get to pick whatever I want....but I really don't.  I have to pick from the select few things they have....this is so frustrating!  But I guess it is better than nothing (even though sometimes I think not winning at all would be better than bursting my bubble)....

Antonio has been doing great at his tournaments...and he has another one this coming Sunday!

My friend and co-podcaster, Elizabeth, made a gorgeous dotted rays shawl.....and now Darlene and I want to make one.  Can you guess which colors are for me and which are for darlene?

These two girls both had their 8th birthday this past week.....Happy Birthday Cataleya and Alexxis!

I started some socks in this amazing green color for my new guy, Lupe.......

And Kody decided he wanted socks and picked the same color!  So, this might have come in the mail:

Paige found a healthy snack for us to try and I really like them....

I lost my dog of almost 13 years, Precious, recently....so I am back to a 2 dog house.

Lastly, I am on the collar for the Ledberg Cardigan......about 1/2 way done with collar.

Have a great week......Here are some amazing mugs I wanted to buy, but realize I have way too many mugs already!

And this one is the best.....because, my family calls me Care Bear!

Happy Graduation Class of 2020!

Hey everyone.....This year's graduation class is not like any other...but my amazing Nephew is graduating with or without Covid...LOL.  He had his ceremony with students 6 feet apart.  I got to watch online from my yarn room/office in my pj's as it streamed over the internet.  My sister and the family got to be there in person.  Congrats Sean!  I am so proud of you!!!

Antonio started Golf Camp this week.....I love this kid!

He also got a pet snake from aunt Bizz......his name is Draco....yes, from Harry Potter!

I got a surprise visit from my girls this past week....it was wonderful!  I took them to Paige's house to see Paige too!

I got a new Bag from Bags By Awesome grannie....it is the new tote....this thing holds 7 skeins of yarn and the project (just beginning) and hook.....it is the cutest bag ever!  If you have been debating on this new tote....get it!

I went to Chicken N Pickle this past Sunday (Yesterday) with Paige, Kody, Antonio, Bizzle, and Tara....I did not take a single picture but I had an amazing time..we all played pickle ball (new to us all) and had a great time.......then we went out to eat at 54th street bar and grill....it was fabulous! I snagged this pic from Tara's instagram.

Im still trying to eat as healthy as possible...but my weight is not budging....in fact, it is going up.  So yesterday I did a super intense workout with Ped and plan on seeing Ped every Sunday and then still doing my 6 day a week workouts from Nathan.

Oh, and Paige and I swapped yoga mats....since I love orange and elephants!

and finally knitting....Yes, I know this is a knitting blog....I finished all my sister's pot holders/dishcloths....then made one for my mom and one for Darlene...I still need to make the 2nd for my mom and Darlene...so that is the plan this week and hopefully you won't have to  keep seeing my dishcloths...LOL!

I leave you with a picture of my dork Jax, and his head hanging off the treadmill (this is where he likes to sleep) and a reminder to be brave....I am trying to be more brave and say how I feel, find my passion and never apologize....these things may sound easy, but for me, they are not....so I need a reminder every once in a while!

Have a great week everyone
