Still No Granddaughter!

Hey everyone.  How are you. Well, my daughter was due April 23rd.  This past Monday she went to the hopsital to be induced.  Well, after several hours of administering pitocin, they sent her home.  Her contractions were coming in hot.....and then all fo a sudden they kinda slowed down and the intensity was much lower.......so they sent her home.

So, according her her last menstrual cycle, her due date was April 23rd....but apparently there were also 2 sonograms and according to the baby's measurements, that put her due dates at both April 27th and May 4th.....so I guess the dr is taking the latest of the dates.....which is this Saturday.  Now, Paige has been in labor for DDDDAAAYYYYSSSS and she is pretty tired of being pregnant and ready to have this baby.  I think this little girl has a bit of stubborness......and I can only imagine where she gets it from.....LOL!!!!!

So, I finished the crochet blanket and this is just going in a basket for future baby gifts.

After Paige toured the hospital, she told me the hospital was cold and asked me to make the baby a hat......so I made 2

Darlene sent me a jewelry row counter (I used when making the hats) and it is pretty cool....she also sent me tea and some of my favorite pens (and Paige's favorite pens because Paige is always stealing them). <3

Lastly, I had the most delicious salad from Las Palapas the other day I have to share.  It is the Stuffed Avocado (with shrimp) dish and half of the 'al carbon' salad....this was sooooo good, I might get another this week.

Now that I shared a fairly healthy salad....I have to share a story with you from yesterday.  Have you ever heard of a cronut?  Well in some of the romance novels I had read, they are always talking about cronuts (one of the main characters owns a bakery)....anyway, I have been thinking of them for MONTHS...and I aske Paige (who is a lover of all donuts) if she knows where they sell them.....and she pulled them up on a grocery app (HEB which is in Texas only) and they are not called Cronuts (what I had been searching for), but instead Glazed Croissant Donut (how simple).....anyway, so after we left the hospital, I went to Paige's HEB (not too far from mine, but a different one than the one I usually shop at) to get one......and.......

They were totally sold out........so this morning after my workout....I went to my parent's HEB (close to gym) and FINALLY!!!!!!

If you have anywhere that sells cronuts, sometimes croinuts, or just plain old glazed croissants......GO GET ONE......they are delicious!

Have a great week!

Advents in April

Hey Everyone.....How are you?  I am hanging in there.  Well, I have about a billion things on the needles, so what have I been doing?  Thinking about all the advent sets I have.  Last post I showed all the neutral yarn.

I got 1 in 2022 that I started to crochet a blanket with, but I do not love it.  Then I got 3 sets last year....what was I thinking?  And I have ordered one set this year (for end of year delivery of course).....So, I got some of these sets out to admire and try to decide what to do with them.  I thought all advents kind of faded or somehow meshed into the next color....but with one kit last year, I can see that is not the case.  I got the Yarn Cafe Creations Harry Potter Year 1 Advent.  This is a collaboration with her daughter at Dragon Hoard Yarns.  Cafe Creations did odd number days, and Dragon Hoard Yarns did even number days....but none of these fade or mesh to roll into the next color.....so honestly, I have no clue what I am going to do with this set.  It also came with one full skein (in the middle) in Gryfindor colorway.  I was going to put these in numeric order, but it looked better in dyer order so to the left are 1, 3, 5, 7.....23 and to the right are 2, 4, 6, 8.....24:

I also got an advent calendar from Suburban Stitcher....last year was a pink Christmas and I think this is my favorite....probably because it fades so well.  I even caked it all up and I think I will try to make the Cozy Comfort Throw.

Then I have an Emmas Yarn advent in fingering weight from 2022 and an Emmas Yarn advent in DK weight from 2023.  I think I might try the Sweet Shop Blanket with the DK weight one....but I am not sure.

I also got some Madeline Tosh Wool & Cotton in the Cold Drip Colorway.  I want to make the Me Time Tee with it

I also worked on this crocheted blanket......I was trying to finish it for my neighbor, whose daughter in law is expecting a girl, but I did not have enough time....I have one skein left before this one is done and it will go in the basket for future baby gifts.

My baby girl is so ready to have my granddaughter......any day now!

Lastly, I want to share that I am 99% sure that Flower thinks the new couch is just one oversized doggy bed.....LOL!  But she is so cute, I do not mind!

That is it.....Have a fabouls week!

Trying to Catch Up

Hey everyone, how are you?  I am well....trying to get more knitting in but it is not working.

My main goals have been to try to catch up on all my blanket and shawl kits (the ones where I get yarn monthly).

My April Yarn for the Blanket clue arrived yesterday:

I also bought neutral yarn to make scrap blankets with several of the advent calendars I have purchased in the past that are just sitting

and this was on sale....it is my favorite color of Emma's Yarn.

Here is my shawl progress....I have only 8 rows till I am all caught up.  My april yarn will mail around the 25th.

Here is my blanket progress.....I just got the caked up skein

Here are some images from last week's Solar Eclipse

And a picture of Flower smiling as she sleeps <3

Well, that is all I have....Have a great week!

It is Eclipse Day!!!

Hey everyone!!  How have you been?  I know I am a week late and I am really sorry!  Today is Eclipse day and it is a pretty big deal (Like 700,000 ppl are flying to SA to see it).  I am in the area called "Leon Valley" (I am not technically in Leon Valley, but I am like 1-2 miles from it.).

I also got a new couch!  I have not had a couch in YEARS!  So I was a bit busy putting it together (it came in 7 boxes via Fedex).....excuse the mess, I still have the boxes everywhere and a bunch of stuff moved around to make room....so, a disaster.  Plus, I need for Paige to come get some of my recliner chairs she wants for her house so I have more room.

I think that Flower thinks it is her own, personal, very large dog bed...LOL!

I got yarn for my Shawl Kit....this is March Color

Plus, I pulled the shawl out to work on:

I also got my monthly blanket kit all caught up

And.....finished a baby blanket for a boy....I do not know anyone having a boy right now, so it will just go in the "for the future" pile.

My baby girl got a new ultrasound today....and her baby girl is growing well!

That is all I have....I hope yall have a great week!
