I have some very sad news....this past Friday Max hurt himself. I am not sure how he did it....I just heard a whimper and he came in the doggie door with his back legs dragging. I took him to ER where they said he needs surgery (for $5k-$10k with no guarantee), so I am trying acupuncture (suggested by a friend). Max is at the Dr office today and he gets acupuncture daily. It is not looking good, but the acupuncture is helping a little....I need it to help more, so any prayers or good vibes/thoughts are welcome.
Max LOVES the acupuncture!
I also got a very heart warming card from the friend who referred me to the clinic...Thank you Jill!
I do not know who this is, I just thought it was cute the puppy was zonked out and thought I would share:
Other than that.......Wow! Can you believe it is already November? Did you have a great Halloween?
I went to Paige's to pass out candy and re-install her Nest Thermostat....more on that soon......she and Antonio had a great time as Jason and Freddy!
I worked on Paige's Thermostat and I ended up frying it (I have no clue how!)....so I had to buy another and install it and I also got a whole new toilet flush replacement kit and fixed her toilet....I hope that is enough Mommy Fix Up for a while! Oh, and there was a spider (bottom right corner) that I did not notice....yikes!
I also made Paige some Pumpkin Bread she asked for....so I think I have filled my mommy quota for a while.....LOL....do you really ever fill a mommy quota?
I did my part with a blood donation this past week too....I missed the last one because I was not feeling well, so I donated this time.
Last week I told you that Darlene's daughter, Shyla, started her own etsy store.....look at these cute reindeer she makes...only $25 a set!
She also makes these cool phone stands!
Okay, on to the knitting (this is a knitting blog....well the life of an addicted knitter's life too...LOL).....I did not knit much during the week at all....Tuesday I made the pumpkin bread and edited podcast #26, Wednesday and Thursday I was at Paige's house doing honey do lists....Friday. Saturday and Saturday I was busy with Max (and I had Antonio Friday and Saturday and Celeste and Cat on Sunday).....but I was able to knit a little on my 2 Test Knit Cardigans.......Vortex and Brise-soliel.
I worked a little on Paige's socks (they are much more mindless and went to ER with me).
Well, that is all I have....Have a great week everyone!
Happy Happy Happy Knitting!
This blog is about my life....and I am completely addicted to knitting, so it is the Life of a Knitphomaniac! You will hear about my knitting, kids, grandkids, and just things going on. I hope you enjoy!

Wow....What a week!
Well, I hope the rest of the year is not like the first week of the year was like for me......home repairs, and not even my home....Paige's. She called me the morning after our coldest night.....I think Wednesday morning.....and she was near tears saying that her house was 59 degrees....she was cold! So after work that day, I went to Home Depot and bought her a new thermostat and went and installed it.
Old Thermostat:
New thermostat:
Done......(It looks crooked, but it is just the angle of my camera):
I sent a pic to Paige and this is what she sent back......makes it all worth it!
Crisis averted right......wrong! She called me later that night that it was getting colder and a little panicked....so I went back to her house. Turns out I did have one wire wrong...so I fixed that wire and the air started getting warmer....but only in Antonio's room because it appears that is the only room that was getting air flow period! We called and called the warranty company, but nothing, so she had to go to bed that night with only air flow in one upstairs room......she told me the next morning that her room got air too (thank goodness). We finally got an appointment for someone to come out to look at the duct work on Saturday. They literally sent the largest man and he cannot get in the attic, so they have to send someone else again. In the mean time, he did find the plug was burnt up and a fire hazard (yeah) but they do not do electrical work so he told me to call the warranty company again.....however, Jaime fixed it. It was probably all burnt up because Paige was using the unit nonstop to try to heat the whole house with 2 vents working.
Okay....enough with house repairs....I hope it all gets fixed this week.
As for knitting......hmmmmmmm what did I do? It felt like a short week!
Well, Darlene and I podcasted on Thursday evening and I worked on my Boxy Cape
I wore my fingerless mitts I showed you last week to staff meeting last week. My boss asked if I knit then and of course I said Yes....so he asked if I could make one for his one year old. Everything he finds in the store has a covered hand or is too large.....so I published a pattern here on this blog, and make his daughter, Madison, some fingerless mitts.
I think the only other thing I worked on is my brioche blanket......
I did have Jazz a this past weekend and also went with Jaime to work on Paige's AC/Heat plug, plus I also took down my Christmas Tree.......so with all of that, I just did not have as much knitting time!
I do have some great pics of Jazz:
She finally sleeps :)
Well, that is it....I hope I have more next week! I leave you with some amazing sunrises from my work view and some knitty/yarny stuff :)
Happy Happy Happy Knitting!
