Never Forget!

Hello everyone!  I hope you are all doing well!  I got up this morning and looked at my watch to see the date and see we are on the 22nd anniverary of September 11, 2001.  I for one, will never forget...and this is the image I usually have in my head when I think of it.  It was such an impactful time!!!

***ETA:  I have been crazy busy.....I started this blog post two days ago, the 11th, but am now finishing it today, the 13th...sorry for the delay!

I really have not knit on much.....besides my test knit that I cannot show.

However, I did get some new yarn!  It is all Berocco Vintage Chunky!

I have had lots of dental work lately so I spoiled myself with some foot work

Shyla got her Mae sweater and hat and they look so freaking good on her....this girl, she makes anything look good!

I also got a new bag from Bags By Awesome Grannie....I LOVE IT!

and how about them Longhorns!  They beat Alabama at Alabama's home field....that has only happened 6 times sine 2007....and Texas just made it SEVEN TIMES!  Yahoo!  Plus, my Brother In Law as at the game in Alabama and he said it was Epic!

Here is my nephew after the game (this past Saturday) and several years ago....once a longhorn, always a longhorn.

Oh....and last month, my sister sent me a text message that my niece, Grace, really wanted a certain cardigan she saw on Pinterest.....This is all I have to go by

So, I found a pertty close color online...and evern emailed her to show her how close the colors are, make a special order and even said in my email that I hope the colors are as close as they look.....and I sent her a pic of the cardigan with her picture of her yarn from her website:

Then, she took a month to get it to me (her custom orders are 10-15 days) and when I finally get it.....

1 - is what Grace wants

2 - is what I bought

3 - is what I got

This is directly under a light

I even took my ipad and put it on the yarn's page and put what I got next to it in a chair with light above....look at this

I am sooooo upset.  I sent the dyer a message yesterday and today and I have not heard back from her.  I am getting a little annoyed!  Now I have to buy more yarn....and I need to have this cardigan done by Christmas, and I cannot find a pattern, so I am going to have to make one up.

Well, that is just the icing on the cake of my super busy week

I hope yall have a fabulous week!

Please send some rain!

Hey Guys.....how are ya'll?  I hope all is well with you.  I'm doing okay here in SUPER HOT (and dry) Texas.  Today we have the slightest chance of rain from all the activity in the golf and I am trying to do as many rain dances as possible....LOL!  Please send some rain (I know poor California needs a break from it).

ETA......a HUGE Thank You!  Just a couple of hours after posting this blog.....I got some rain....no, it is not nearly enough, but I am still thankful (no laughing at my super brownish goldish grass)!!

So, what have I been up to?  Well, first, I got my August Blanket Yarns.....

I got a new cone winder (my Erlbacher Speedster CSM prefers yarn from a cone over a cake).....it is called the Sunfire 2.0 and I love it....I actually got it a while ago, but once I started using it, it became clear that the post office had broken some parts in transit...so I had to send back and here is my new operational one :)

I worked on my Sunshine Coast Sweater.....

Then I finished Shyla's Mae

I had approx 111 yards left of yarn so I made her a shortened version of the Dotty Beanie.  I did not do 2 of the 10 repeats, and once I did like 2 decreases, I had to do all the decreases at once (without the patterned row in between) because I was going to run out of yarn....but I think it will still be wearable.

Now for my challenge of the year......I got a text from my sister saying that my niece found a cardigan on Pinterest that she really likes and wants to know if I can make for her like as a Christmas/Birthday present.

This is all I have to go by

so I turned it around

and I found the perfect color yarn from Euphoria Knits in DK Rapture

I have placed a special order and now I wait on the yarn.  I think I will have to knit this from the bottom up......any thoughts, advice or have you seen the perfect pattern out there?  I am pretty sure the cardigan was purchased at Target.

Lastly, my guest bathroom has not had a sink/vanity for over a year (since I got the floors done)....and my contractor recently found this gorgeous sink/vanity and brought it to my house....hopefully he can install it in the next couple of weeks (I have a faucet and accessories on order).

Well, that is all I have.  I hope you have a great week....and while I claim to be the spreadsheet queen....there is no spreadsheet I can do for this next mathematical equation...LOL!

Happy Mother's Day!

HI everyone....I am just about to get ready to go to my sister's lake house to kick off a Mother's Day weekend.  We will be eating my mother's cannelloni tonight, then massages (me, my mom, sister and niece...Paige could not make it) for all the girls Saturday morning.....Antonio has golf on Sunday and I have a workout with Paige Sunday morning with our usual Sunday morning trainer, Ped.

I hope y'all have a wonderful Mother's Day!

What have I been working on?  Pretty much only 2 things.  I started a wallaby for Antonio....in red.   I have been meaning to start this wallaby for like 2 years....but I finally started it.

I got yarn to make Shyla a Mae sweater

I won a pair of needles from Knitters Pride....

and while this was exciting, my bubble was quickly burst when I realized they (the companies that do give a ways) like to look good by saying I get to pick whatever I want....but I really don't.  I have to pick from the select few things they have....this is so frustrating!  But I guess it is better than nothing (even though sometimes I think not winning at all would be better than bursting my bubble)....

Antonio has been doing great at his tournaments...and he has another one this coming Sunday!

My friend and co-podcaster, Elizabeth, made a gorgeous dotted rays shawl.....and now Darlene and I want to make one.  Can you guess which colors are for me and which are for darlene?

These two girls both had their 8th birthday this past week.....Happy Birthday Cataleya and Alexxis!

I started some socks in this amazing green color for my new guy, Lupe.......

And Kody decided he wanted socks and picked the same color!  So, this might have come in the mail:

Paige found a healthy snack for us to try and I really like them....

I lost my dog of almost 13 years, Precious, recently....so I am back to a 2 dog house.

Lastly, I am on the collar for the Ledberg Cardigan......about 1/2 way done with collar.

Have a great week......Here are some amazing mugs I wanted to buy, but realize I have way too many mugs already!

And this one is the best.....because, my family calls me Care Bear!

Antonio is in 3rd Grade

Hey everyone...how has your week been?  Mine has been a bit crazy......Antonio started school yesterday and it has been one hiccup after the next....okay, what I really want to say is it has been a sh#t show...but I was trying to be nice.....I know it must be hard for all these school districts to get everything ready for online learning....plus, let's not forget that this is all contingent on the kids being able to login in and the systems work.  Yesterday the system crashed and it looks like today it is working a little better, but I am not sure.  Paige will be teaching Antonio on Mon, Wed and Fri and I will have him Tues and Thurs.....she needs to work and she has already reduced her hours as much as she can.

Here are first day of school pics!

I finished working on my Jimmy Beans Wool Hedgehog Fibers blanket....I actually finished August's color while still in August!

I have not seen my son since his birthday in February (because of this Corona virus) but he sent me a beautiful bouquet of flowers made out of paper so I can put on my shelf....I love them!

I finally finished Shyla's wrap....I finished back around Aug 6th, but had been putting off the fringe....so I finally tackled the fringe and now it is done.

I had a friend from work contact me about helping her fix a kitchen stitch she messed up on the hat of a wallaby.....so I picked it up from her.....

and fixed it the best I could...I think a wash will help.

I had to snap a pic of my dogs the other day......purl is nestled under the blanket...but you can see Jax and Precious.....my babies!

Darlene and I decided we wanted to do a hat....we are going to do the Pull The Wool Over hat.....I will use Hedgehog Aran in Matchstick and Shibui Cloud in Bone

If I have enough cloud left, I will probably make a 2nd with Hedgehog Film Noir

I cast on with 8's as pattern said and I think it was too loose

Then tried 6's and I think it's too tight

So I am restarting today with 7's for ribbing and 8 for the stockinette......hopefully I can finish for you before next week.

Well, that is all I have.....I hope y'all have a great week!
