It's almost April?

Can you believe that in 2 days it will already be April?  WOW!

I am gonna just jump right into the knitting!

I think I should kinda call last week Sock Week....I worked on socks!

I finished one of my HiyaHiya KAL socks

I worked on my Loopy Academy Socks

And, when Jaime and I went to Hot Rod Night on Saturday....I took my rainbow socks to knit on....these socks have both heels in already (yippee)!

I am really loving my Dyakcraft Heavy Metal needles....so much so that I ordered a second set....they do not put holes in my fingers (that is always a plus)!

I also got some extra stops for them

and some extra stops for my Darn Pretties (and Northern Lights):

I have been cruising the Miss Babs forum on Ravelry and have seen so many awesome pictures of our Destination One shawl (called Ves)...our destination is Sri Lanka!  So.....I had to jump in and get started (you all know I have startitis!).

I also worked a little on my secret project (pretty soon I will not be able to show picture of this one).

I guess from many of the above pictures, you can see I spent a big chunk of the weekend in my Pajamas.....I was tagged on Instagram for #widn (What I'm Doing Now) and that is how the above picture was taken.....I also posted the picture of the rainbow sock being knit at Hot Rod Night on Instagram and Facebook......then I got a message from my friend that I am making the Dr Who Scarf for....I do not blame her for asking about the scarf....and I was embarassed to tell her it was barely 1/2 way done.....see, this is why I should just tell people, "No, I will not knit for you."  But I did not say that (almost a year ago)......and her son's bday is coming up April 18th.....So, I pulled it out of hibernation....and it was only 37.95% done (Yikes).  So I knitted and knitted and knitted on it and I got it to 43.12%......so I did like 5% (and it felt like so much more).

Now I need to update the spreadsheet to see if I can finish it in like 16 -17 days.....wish me luck!

Let me jump into some stash enhancements....Darlene went to the DC/VA area last week for a conference.  She went by Fiber Space in Alexandria and got me some yarn from Neighborhood Fiber Company in the Del Ray color!  I LOVE IT!

I placed an order with Eat, Sleep, Knit for some Cascade....I want to make a sweater for Antonio, and a couple of felted things for the kitchen (in my far future) and then wanted to get some chunky madeline tosh for a Gaptastic Cowl....it will probably be years before I start these....

One of the ladies that just joined our knitting group at work used to sell scentsy...and she had these cute little scentsy packs in her project bags.....so I had to get some.  I love the way they smell....so fresh!

Well, I think that is all I have for the week.....so I will leave you with some Aunty Acid....and related pictures.

Thankfully I was not on that last list!  LOL!  Happy Happy Happy Knitting!

I caught the crazy!

Hi everyone.....how has your week been?  Mine has been good and I feel like I got a good amount of knitting done too....it is never enough, but I like to feel like I am making some progress.  I also realized that I have caught the crazy!  I have WAY too many things on the needles right now......and every once in a while I realize how crazy I am.  I have

Dr Who
Spire
Miss Winkle
Smooth Move
Stitch Surfer Socks
TSD stage 2 socks
Placemats for Paige

That is 7 things....and trust me...I have many more things OTN (blankets, leaves of grass shawl, vitamin d cardigan, etc), but these are things that I want to actively be working on right now.  Tomorrow is July 1 and the Hitofude Cardigan KAL starts, Camp Loopy Project 2 starts, and TDS sock Stage 4 starts....that is 3 things I should be casting on tomorrow.....yikes!  I have officially bitten off more than I can chew.

So...what did I knit on this past weekend?

I did a few colors of the Dr Who Scarf

I did about 12 or 13 rows on Spire...it is hard to tell, but I promise it is farther along....I guess I need to order a bigger cord.

Then I worked on Smooth Move...I got this much farther...but decided to frog some.  See, I based this whole shawl off of the varigated color.  It was one of the only DK weight yarns I had 750+ yards of.  What I did not know is that these reason these were caked for me is because they are caked double....there are two strands of yarn to be used as one strand....so I got to it and started knitting...about 8 rows in I could tell this was going to be way too dense.  So I ripped back to the end of the orange, split the yarn (pulling the two strands apart and making one cake into two cakes) and restarted the varigated part.  I am only about 8 rows in again.....and I like it, but I hope in the long run, this yarn is not too thin now.

I also made serious progress on my Tour de Sock Stage 2 socks...I finished one...and I hope to get really close to finishing the second one tonight....before stage 4 comes out tomorrow.

I think they look a little funny....I do not think I should have continued the pattern down both sides...but that is okay...they are mine and I made them flip flop socks because I like to wear flip flops a lot!

That is only 4 knitting projects worked on, but I got a good chunk in on each of them except maybe the scarf.

Jaime's best friend from childhood came into town this past weekend....they have not seen each other for 40 years.....wow!  I snapped a picture by the little league fields they used to play on as kids.

Well, that is really all I have.....tomorrow starts 3 things....Camp Loopy project 2, Tour de sock Stage 4, and the Hitofude KAL with SA SNB.....I will probably wait on the hitofude a few days....but I plan on casting on the other two tomorrow.

Next Sunday I get to meet Stephen West and Steven Be......be ready for LOT OF PICS on my next blog update!

Happy Happy Happy knitting!

It's COLD!!!!!!!!!

I am running behind on my blog post....and I am going to blame it on the COLD!  I live in mid/south Texas and we just do not get that cold here....well, it rained and sleeted on Thursday with freezing temps overnight, so the roads and highways were full of ice....when that happens, this city shuts down (with all the northerners laughing at us)....we had hundreds of wrecks and people in traffic for hours and I think just about all schools were cancelled.  I did have to go to work, but I did go in late, I just was not going to chance hitting some ice and not know what to do (I did not learn how to drive on ice or snow).

Here is one picture going around facebook

Alice (a lady from my online knitting group - LSSK) sent this picture and I think it is perfect:

I have been doing lots in the knitting world.....I was able to block Paige's sweater, and she wore it to school on Saturday (I tell her I cut her face out of the picture, but she does not read my blog so don't tell her that I actually leave her beautiful face in the pic).

I also have a couple of stash enhancements......but there is a LONG story to one of them.  You know how I am making a Hypernova with some Miss Babs Katahdin yarn in colorway Biker Chick?  (here is a progress pic)

Well, my greatest knitting friend Darlene was going to make her in the same color type, but in a solid called Buttersquash.  Well, she saw my biker chick one, she and I both agreed that the pattern just screams for Varigated yarn.....so we checked out the Miss Babs website and found some Perfectly Wreckless colorway....so we ordered two skeins in the same order to save shipping......these two skeins could not be more different.  It is like one was at the beginning of the dyeing process (bright and vibrant) and the other was towards the end (more soft and lighter).  I have a picture of the two of them caked up side by side and they do not even look like the same colorway....so we are both going to make Hypernova's with this yarn.....so yes, I am crazy to make TWO Hypernova's and I am going to call them HyperCrazy (because I am crazy to try to do two).  Oh, and the skein is so big, it wound around the bottom of my ball winder.

Here is my progress so far on my second HyperCrazy

Also, while we are on the subject of Stash Enhancements and Katahdin yarn....Darlene got me another skein of this yarn in the colorway Masquerade.....she got it for me as a birthday present, but she could not wait till my birthday to give it to me (I could not wait till her birthday to give her her gift either.....)  It is gorgeous...I have no clue what I am going to make with it (but I am pretty sure it will not be a HyperCrazy)!

Do you remember all those crochet bags I made a while back?  Well, Darlene lined my last one for me and it looks AWESOME!

Then as an added bonus, she used some left over material and made me a zipper bag to match it....I love it!

I do have some sad knitting news...do you remember the pom pom blanket I made for Bizzle for Christmas?  Well, she sent it home one day with the mother of a child that she babysits for....and that mother washed the blanket...not only did she wash it.....she washed it in HEAVY DUTY...it is nearly ruined...I am going to try to save some of it, but I am pretty sure it will be much smaller that before it met the washing machine.

Switching topics back to the yarn clubs I joined for 2014....well, the Martina Behm First Package has shipped....it should be here this week.  Here is a picture in the English Spoiler Thread, and I will insert the Project pic that shows Martina Wearing it (but it is hard to see what it is).

I read that Canada already is receiving packages, so I hope it comes in this week!!!!!  I am super excited.....I just hope this does not happen to my package...I placed an order online with a different company and FedEx says my package should be delivered in 1969 (before I was born)....ha, ha!

Oh....and I also got things rolling for the 2014 Ravellenics.....I will be captain of the Team San Antonio Yarnies.  No requirement to live in SA....if you want to join, go right ahead...the more the merrier...more information here.  Thankfully, I have 2 more weeks before that starts.

Well, that is pretty much it for now...I had a lot of catching up to do...sorry if the blog is too long.

Sometimes when I know I am crazy (like my HyperCrazy Idea), I have to remind myself:

Happy Happy Happy Knitting!!  Stay warm!
