Happy Anniversary to me and Lupe!

Hey everyone....I hope yall are doing well.  If you have been following me for a while you know I have had a new guy in my life for several years and maybe realized that recently he moved in with me (last year).  Well it was our anniversary this past weekend.....He took me out to eat at Red Lobster.  I had Bairdi crab and he had a combination platter with Snow Crab, Lobster and Shrimp....it was delicious!  Needless to say, I have gained a bit of weight since he moved in as he does all the cooking....but I am super happy (just wish I could be happy and thin....LOL!).

He also got me a gorgous James Avery necklace that has an open daisy (my favorite flower) on it!  I love it!!

His birthday is coming up in August and I asked what he wanted and he wants to go on a hike somewhere nearby....so I made reservations at Los Maples State National Park, and we ordered him hiking shoes, and we ordered both of us backpacks that have a water bladder to drink out of as we hike.  I did not want to use them for the first time when we hike, so yesterday we went on a 4 mile walk off paths here in the city.....the backpacks worked great....and we saw a turtle (we saw two, but one jumped right before this pic).

Lupe also made us 2 briskets this past week....he has been trying to figure out the best way to cook em and I am all too happy to be the taste tester (remember that weight I have gained.....LOL!!)

We had a birthday party to go to for Lupe's great nephew.  He slept with the card from us....so cute!

Okay.....I guess I should get on to the knitting....LOL!

I finished some socks (cranked but hand knit toes, heels and cuffs) for my friend Brigit in the Netherlands

Speaking of Brigit, she has decided she is going to design another Advent Stole this year so I got this yarn with these beads....they should be delivered today

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was asked to test knit and advent shawl for NEL....well, the yarm came in and I have completed clue 1

Lupe asked me to make a set of hats for his friend, James and James' partner....so I finished one...one more still to go

I worked on squares for Antonio's blanket but really need to get more done!

I also worked on my staple socks

and my sister's cardigan which needs to be done in a week!  Yikes

We have the lakehouse retreat this coming weekend.  Darlene will pick me up Thursday after work.....I am so excited!

I leave yall with a fabulous pic of Flower and I hope you have a great week!

So many prayers for Texas!!!

Hello everyone....I hope you are all well and safe and sound.  There was some really bad flooding in Texas these last few days.  The most devastating flooding was along the Guadalupe River in Kerr County (by Kerrville)....but honestly, there was flooding in so many places that just did not make the news because it was not as bad as the flooding in Kerrville.  There were 750 girls camping at Camp Mystic, and I think the ages were 8 to 11 (I am not 100% sure, but my point is they were young girls) and while I do not know the exact count, I think there are approx 27 dead from the camp, but a total count of 82 people dead with still dozens missing......and, we are forecasted for more rain.  So if you pray or talk to someone of a higher power in your mind....please pray for Texas.

My sister was at her lakehouse, and lake LBJ was not immune to the flooding.....but they are all okay!  The lake did rise, but it was not terrible in the cove where her home is.

There was a fire though....on someone elses boat in the cove where my sister has her lake house.  These are not the greatest images, but they are screenshots from a video as I cannot quite figure out how to get a video uploaded here to my blog.

My newphew, Sean, put the fire out by splashing water with his wave runner on to the boat several times.  The Granite Shoals PD came by to thank him and give him a coin reward of some sort.  I am so proud of him!

Lupe and I went on a few walks (prior to the rain...plus, SA was not really flooding), and he spotted a hawk (he really knows his birds way better than I do) and I spotted a deer.  We actually saw dozens of deer, but this one was pretty close and did not seem to want to leave the trail till we were very close.

There was one day last week where I had to take my mom to her Oncologist appointment.  Lupe went on a bike ride without me.....he took this pic.....I love it! <3

Now.....for the knitting (and crocheting).  I actually got a lot of squares done for Antonio's AI Granny Square blanket.  We go to the lakehouse in approx 10 days and I want to have a bunch of squares done so I can start attaching them with black while I am there.

I also got some new yarn.....Wolltraum.

These yarns were purchased for a reason....but I am going to keep it a bit of a secret for now.  I have one project started with some yarn I already had and my plan is to make 2 blankets....but, as usual, I might have bitten off more than I can chew, so I am going to go with the first one first and see what happens.

Here is a sneak peak

I also started a new sweater that I hope will be a nice mindless project for the lakehouse (you know me...I am going to finish 38 things in 3 days.....LOL!).  The pattern is called Audrey and honestly, I can see myself making more of these in different colors!  This is Must Stash Sweater Girl Yarn in the Penny colorway

I also got both legs of my Staple Sock KAL done.

Lastly, this little ball of sass had Wet Wednesday last week....she loves the water!

Well, that is all I have.  I hope yall have a fabulous week!!!

Not as much as recently......

Hey everyone.  How are you?  I am great.....but, I have not been knitting or crocheting as much as in more recent posts....I guess my brain/body/both just needed a break...LOL!  I hope to change that this week and get in more "stitching"!

First.....my darling Mia (Erich's fiance's Goddaughter) is officially in remission!  Praise the Lord I am so happy.  They also had a "fairy" themed event in Scotland and while she could not participate in actual parade, she was able to go and watch.  Coley's dad got her fairy wings and flower crown.....This girl's smile is just phenomenal!

Last week, I took a day off with Lupe as he was going to do his first "package delivery" route for a job....I was planning on being in car all day and knitting (being there just if he needed me for technology on the app or something), but we got there to get the packages and apparently it was a slow day and all the packages were accounted for.....so.......we went to the Japanese tea garden

Now remember....I was "planning" on being in the car all day....not having pics taken of me....LOL!

Then, we went to play put put golf (Lupe has never played)....he beat me by 3 strokes.

We also went to Rolando's....the best tacos on the planet!

and of course followed the best tacos ever with cookies!

I was asked to test knit a shawl for the NEL advent event so I agreed....this is the yarn I am going to use (I ordered last week)

We ordered a new shower curtain for the guest bathroom....I thought it might look to childish, but I absolutely love it and it matches the Highland cow that Paulette made me a few years ago with diamond painting.....I love it so much!

I got the headphones of my dreams....they were very discounted (the main reason I purchased now instead of waiting).  I have finished 2 books in 4 days....LOL!

Now for stitching.....first, Antonio asked if his blanket was ready.....LOL!

So....I got busy on some more squares....

I do not know if you have heard of new wave knitting, but it is a designer that is IMO a math geek like me and likes to make patterns where you input your gauge (with whatever yarn and needles you want to use) and sizes of your body or head or feet and then the pattern automagically kicks out your exact numbers......She is also hostessing a KAL with her new Staple Sock pattern......I have been wanting to do some hand knit socks for a while, so I thought this is the perfect time.

So here are my socks

and I also worked a little on my sister's cardigan.  I put it backward so you can see the cabling.

Well, that is all I have.....I hope you have a great week!
