Week of the Mystery Wrap

Hey Everyone.....How was your week?  My week was great.

It was mostly the Week of the Mystery Wrap for me...

I finished clue 1 .....

Clue 2 came out....so I started clue 2....clue 1 is the top piece and clue 2 is the bottom piece (but I am not done with clue 2).

I also worked on my socks....got two fish lips kiss heels done :)

That is all I knitted on.....but in other news and some random posts:

Jaime's dog, Brandy, got sick.  She had an inflamed pancreas and it was affecting her liver.  She stayed 2 days in the veterinary hospital....when she came home, she still was not feeling well, so we just sat and relaxed.  When she was given her medicine in peanut butter, she just kind of sat there and did not want to swallow or anything....poor baby...Jaime had to give her a dropper full of water to get her to swallow the peanut butter with the medicine....but she is doing better.

I had dinner at my mom's house last night with my whole family to celebrate a late Mother's Day and an early birthday for her (her birthday is Tomorrow)......my sister brought her new dog, Sasha...she is a cutie pie

I took Antonio, Celeste and Cataleya.....they had a great time with whipped cream mustache's

I tried to get them to sit still for a picture together...but Antonio with his 'larger than life' personality....I could not get him to sit still....LOL!

Paige bought me some of my favorite popsicles....she loves me!

And Antonio and Paige were messing with my the camera at bath time......

That is all I have.....Have a great week!

Happy Mother's Day and some exciting news

Hi everyone...to all the mothers out there.....I hope you had a fabulous Mother's Day!!!

Antonio, Chris and Paige got me some beautiful roses (Paige got some too)!!!  Thanks guys!

As for knitting.....well, my first item for the big 4 retreat is done.....I finished my Fade.....Yahoo!  a whopping 20 days early!  Yippee....Hurray!!

I started my Joji Wrap with actually doing a swatch (GASP)!  I like the bottom swatch best....so that is what I am going with.

Here is my start.....I have finished one triangle (for clue 1 we need to make two of them)....My cord is not long enough to show the whole thing....so I am showing  half of it scrunched up (aren't those hippo stitch markers the cutest?):

I worked on my socks (but the chickens were still slacking...LOL!)!

I had a few stash enhancements.....Leading Men Fiber Arts May color.....Rumor Has It

And a pack of mini skeins I ordered months ago in the Knotty Knit Wits Podcast Forum....it is Yarn Café Creations Yarn.

Then I got a fabulous surprise for Mother's Day from a fabulous friend....Michelle from the Knotty Knit Wits podcast sent me this beautiful sock yarn for socks along with a Knotty Knit Wits progress keeper and a card......I love it....Thank you Michelle!!!

For Mother's Day, my kiddos got me a glass head....strange gift you might say...but I asked for it.  So I can take pictures of any hats I knit (cuz you know I knit sooooo many hats....LOL).  I really do love this glass head.  Antonio says he wants it to be a boys head....but this boy is gonna have to model some girlish patterns every once in a while....like this one with a bow :)

That is pretty much all I have for knitting......some other things from this week:

Paige and Antonio had a water balloon fight (I think it was a tie).

My babysitter from Abensberg, Deutschlad came to the United States to see her first grandchild (her son lives in Charleston, SC)....her name is Burgle and her husband is Stephan.  They came to San Antonio to visit with my parents.  I have not seen her in 42 years (she came to New York when I lived there 42 years ago).  I do not remember her form childhood, but it was great to meet her and spend some time with them....they are fabulous.  Here they are with my parents.

I have some semi exciting news.......it has a bit of a back story.  I have been looking at cameras.  I have a very nice Cannon Rebel EOS xsi that Jaime bought me many years ago....Paige mostly uses this older camera of mine (I use my iPhone for pics for my blog).  Well, I started to think it is time to update this camera to one with wifi and one with a recorder....then I could do small vlogs here (short video entries) since I am about to hit my 5 year blogiversary, I thought I could take it to the next level with vlogs.  When I mentioned this to Darlene, she said she would do a podcast with me ....can you believe it?  We are going to start a podcast!  I am super excited.

I bought a Nikon B500 and it came and I took some pics and a video but I could not get the darned thing to connect to the internet....I was so frustrated....so it is in a box and is being returned....I think I am going to go with the Cannon T6i camera....Paige has heard a lot of great things about it.  It is a bit pricier, but worth it if it really connects via wifi.  I also bought a big round light on a tripod and semi cleaned up my yarn room to get it ready to podcast....what do you think?

Here is the big round light pictured off and on (my iPhone could not get a good pic of it on, because it was super bright).

Here is the room semi ready:

So do you guys think we are crazy?  Would you watch our podcast?  It is kinda scary.....stay tuned.

That is all I have......Have a great week everyone!

Happy May Flowers

Well, it is already May and I am looking forward to some beautiful flowers.....I am not looking forward to the heat, but I am looking forward to seeing pretty flowers on the roadsides.

This past week was May The Fourth.....which is like Star Wars Day aka Geek Day....Now, I am a geek, but I am not a Star Wars Gal.  However, I can play along as long as it has to do with Knitting.

Let me jump into some stash enhancements.......TWO fabulous new bag sets from Bags By Awesomegrannie

Knit Happens

and Knitting Chickens (is there anything cute than chickens knitting?)

I love these knitting chickens so much, I moved my May socks into this bag

Here is my start....I teased on Instagram that I would knit one sock and the chickens wound knit the 2nd....the chickens are slacking!

I got my DVD swag from first quarter Instagram posts.....a dvd button, a yarn tag, and some stitch markers on a D Ring.  Thank you Susan!

I also got some great new socks with sheep on them....super cute!

As far as knitting, I pretty much worked my fingers to the bone on my Fade this past week.  I want to try to finish before the new Joji Mystery Wrap clue 1 is released this coming Friday the 12th.

Here is my 6th color

Here is my 7th color (there are  very few stitches to the left of my stitch marker....Yeah)!

I am still hoping to finish my fade in a couple of days and then work on my socks till Friday......Here are my colors for the Joji Mystery Wrap...

That is it for the knitting....but for some random things from my week:

Recently, I bought a few new shirts and pants for work and so did Darlene....well, last Monday we both wore the exact same shirt and we did not even know the other person had both bought it......Darlene wore it better, but we are some pretty cute BFFs!

Jaime has owned his own business for 17 years, but he decided to get a new job working for someone else and he starts today....so I took him out this past Friday night to Pappadeaux (the new location by La Cantera) since Jaime loves Cajun Food and Seafood.

He got the Texas Redfish with Shrimp and I got a Prime Beef Ribeye....it was all so fabulous and delicious (so much for loosing weight)....they had a Butternut Squash Risotto that was delicious and grilled Asparagus and a lump crab meat in béarnaise.

It was so much to eat that I had enough left over for a full meal on Saturday night.

I also had a friend tag me with this picture on Facebook....I love it...but of course change Crochet to Knitting :)

Celeste and Cataleya came over yesterday.....they played with Antonio and hung out with Oma.....I got them some Sumo Boppers (that can also be used at a river or beach)...they had a blast:

Celeste is getting so big....she used to HATE for me to take pictures of her...and now she welcomes it!

Well, that is all I have.....Have a great week!
