Back to the Gym

Hey everyone....how are you?  I am fine....Yesterday was my first day back at the gym and let me tell you....it made a difference.  It felt great to be back in the gym and I am super sore today.

Also, there is a Workout Of the Day in CrossFit (WOD) that is called Murph....named after a Lieutenant Michael Murphy of the Navy Seals that died in action in 2005.  It was his favorite workout and it consists of 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats, 1 mile run.....now, I am a member of a FB group where they have been training for this workout since May 1....I just was not sure I could do it....so, sadly I did try and I kinda regret it (because I feel strong).  Now I know I cannot do a pull up at all, bu there are modifications for pull ups if you can't do them...and I should have tried....why am I telling you this?  Because I want to post it here the I am going to do it next year for Memorial Day.....my end of 2020 year goal is to be able to do a pull up, and my Memorial Day 2021 goal will be to do a Murph Workout.....wish me luck!

As for knitting.....well, my sister has discretely asked for some more dishcloths.....she wants 2 in burnt orange/white for the Lakehouse, 2 in blue jean blue/white for her house in SA, and 2 in cornflower/white for Grace (for when Grace moves into her apartment).  So I placed an order with Joann.com....and they are running like a week behind on curbside....so I canceled the order and just went and bought yarn.

Thankfully I had the burnt orange and some white

Made these

I have the yarn for the others and will cast on today and this week

Why did I get 3 cornflower and only 2 blue jeans....well, because my mom's birthday was this past Saturday and I went to have a nice dinner with her and my daddy......and she wants 2 also, and I think the cornflower will go well in her kitchen.  Here we are together (the coloring in this photograph does not show the real blue of her kitchen...the blue in the picture of my daddy shows the better blue color) and my daddy making a flambeau pepper steak (on fire).

I got my skein of yarn for my Jimmy Beans Wool Blanket (I really need to get a move on with that project).

Lastly, I got some pompoms for hats that were on sale.....

That is all I have this week....Have a great week everyone!

Hat Trick On Sweaters....Is that a Thing?

So it appears that I have not been all that great at keeping my blog up to date....I am sorry for that....I will do better.  I just have not had a lot of knitting lately.  I did have that great week of lots of dishcloths and I finished Shyla's sweater and I think the might have lit a little bit of a fire under by butt!

I finished Shyla's Sweater right before Mother's Day.....then I finished mine last Wednesday

Then I started Peyton's last Wednesday.....Here is pic from last Friday:

And I finished it this morning!  Yahoo!!!  There is my Hat Trick (Okay, maybe not a complete hat trick as I did not knit all of Shyla's sweater, only the sleeves, but I am still counting this a victory)!

Now, Darlene really likes the Yellow color and there are like 3 1/2 skeins left of this color, so I am gonna make her one too.....but before I do, I have a request from my sister.  Years ago I made her some pod holder/dish cloths....the Circle Cloth Pattern...she sent a text with the picture of them asking me if they are hard to make.....of course I told her no....so I have several color requests...1 set blue/white, 1 set burnt orange/white, and 1 set color to yet be chosen.....LOL

While on the subject of my sister, her family got a new pontoon boat....I also happy for them....

Some other random things.....I go my new gate up

I ordered some amazing organic carrots from Amazon fresh that were 4 feet long with the stems

I also got sweet potatoes and made my own chips (these are the white sweet potatoes)

Antonio has been going to golf

His great grandma on my late husbands side gave him a Star Wars watch that was completely dead....so after buying a set of screwdrivers to open it, and then new batteries once I figured out what size was needed.....I fixed it.

My sister gave me a harness for Jax for his walks and he loves it....

I have officially lost 25 lbs!

And that is all I have....Have a great week (what is left of it) everyone!  I hope y'all have an fabulous Memorial Day too!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello Everyone and Happy Mother's Day!  I hope all you mother's out there are having a great day.

I am late in writing this blog......I really did not have much to show last week....so I just kept putting it off.....I worked on the sleeves for Shyla's The Easy One Bulky Sweater.....I had Paige model for me.  Shyla is gonna love this sweater.

Then I got the yarn to make Peyton a sweater like this (I will end up making Paige one too).

And here is mine....I just have about two inches to go before the ribbing.

This past Tuesday a great friend of mine, Jennifer, showed Darlene and I a dishcloth pattern she was gonna do...and we had to jump in....it started a little trend for me and I did 4 dishcloths this week (none are blocked)....they were so much fun.  Thank you Jennifer for kicking me and Darlene in the dishcloth direction...it was exactly what we needed!

Yesterday I went to my sister's house for an early Mother's Day celebration and Erich got me an amazing digital frame (here is a picture of Grace and Sean in the frame)....its a Nixplay where you can add pictures straight from your phone....I love it!

And Paige got me a real doggie gate for my front hallway...right now I have a ghetto baby gate that is constantly falling down and you have to step over and it is just all that great....but I cannot wait for this one to arrive....it should be here tomorrow.
Well, I know that is not a lot...but it is really all I have right now......Have a great week everyone!
