New Car = Proud Mom!

My big news of the week is that my daughter bought a new car!  I am soooooo proud of her!

Way to go Princess!!

So, you know the saying.....April Showers Bring May Flowers....if the saying is true, then we are going to have lots and lots of May flowers.....we have been pounded with rain lately...over 5" this month!

Well, on to the stash enhancements:

Do you remember some yarn I got from a friend last week?  It was FiberNymph in the Total Eclipse color....well, I loved it so much, I had to get another skein.....It is hard to capture this color...but it is gorgeous!

I also got some yarn to make my dad a golf club cover....I have pictures of the two covers he currently uses to cover a very large driver (I think it is a driver)...One is of a min-pin because we used to have one....I will not be making him an animal one....I will try to make him one with black and greyish stripes....and a pom pom on top.

I also got some yarn to make myself either a hat of fingerless gloves...this yarn is cotton, but I think it matches my new purse very well!  I found a hat pattern that I think is so cute...but I honestly do not wear many hats.....so I think fingerless gloves may be more useful....

I also got some really cute needle gauges.....they are from succaplokki and they are super cute....I got them to just be the sock needle sizes so I can put them in my cases that have my dyakcraft heavy metal needles.

Now, on to the knitting!  I only worked on 4 things this week....I finished the Felted Hot Pad for Loopy Academy:

I worked on my secret project knitting...I am getting really close to the next color!  Now, I had a friend ask me about the yarn...pulling from the inside or the outside....it does not matter with this yarn....you just need to pull from where you want the color to start

Now, I had a friend ask me about the yarn...pulling from the inside or the outside....it does not matter with this yarn....you just need to pull from where you want the color to start.  I knew this shawl is a bottom up shawl...and I wanted my darker color at the bottom, so I pulled from the outside.  But I could have easily pulled from the inside if it was a top down shawl and I did not want to re-cake it.

I also worked on my Ves from the Miss Babs Destination 1, Sri Lanka...I have completed 4 repeats...but sadly, I am only barely past 50%

and my Team Spirit socks for a HiyaHiya KAL....I have started the first toe decrease....I usually have both socks going at the same time...but because it was colorwork and I was already using 2 cakes of yarn, I did not want to pull from inside and outside of yarn for 2 socks...I figured it would make a huge tangly mess.

That is all I have for knitting.....sad, I know...but I had a crazy busy week at work, and with Paige buying a new car, and then I went out of town this past weekend to see my son....and well, it was just busy!

I got to see 2 of my grand daughters this past weekend...Celetse and Cataleya

Now, I usually do not post about movies here...but two movies that I have been wanting to see came out today....so tonight it will be me with my knitting and movies!

Oh, and I had a friend tag me in facebook with this post....I love it because when friends see knitting, they think of me....but mostly because it is also Dachshunds!

Lastly....I think all of you know what an online shopper I am....so I see this as me in the near future (let's all hope my computer does not crash!)  Have a great week!

Happy Fiesta!

Hello Everyone!  How was your week?  Mine was great!  Here in San Antonio, TX we are in the middle of Fiesta.....it is a festive time with lots of parades and celebrations all around.  You can read about it here.  It is rare that I ever go to a fiesta event....but it is fun to see and hear about all the events on the news here.

So, on to the knitting.....I have a few stash enhancements......Jennifer from BugBear Woolens offered out a discount code to the HiyaHiya ravelry group (here)....so I had to snag this gorgeous orange!

Then, there is a new lady in my knitting group at work....she has really taken off in knitting, buying many supplies and stash.....and she wanted to Thank me and Darlene for all the help we have given her with her knitting.....she got me this Fiber Nymph Yarn and I am completely in LOVE with this color....this has to be one of the most perfect Burnt Orange Colors ever!  Thank you so much Marla!!!!

I also ordered some sock needle holders.  They are usually called DPN holders, but I use them for magic loop.....

That is it for Stash Enhancements.....but I think I got lots of knitting done this past week.  I have kept up with my Miss Babs Destination one to Sri Lanka, the pattern is called Ves.....

My friend got the scarf for her son....and he LOVED it....she posted that he was sleeping in it that night.........that just makes my heart soar!  Here he is:

I also worked on my secret project....I think as long as I do not tell you what it is (yet), I can show you....my gradient yarn started to change colors....so exciting!

I also started and finished a dishcloth.....this is for my Lonestar State Knitters Group....we are doing what it called Texas Highway Dishrag Tag!  So, someone (or more than one) starts a box...in the box is a hand knitted dishrag and 2 skeins of kitchen cotton yarn, along with some trinkets (tea, chocolate, knitting notions, etc)....they send it to person number 2.....person number 2 takes out all the contents.  They pick one skein of the kitchen cotton to knit a dishrag with, and one skein to keep for themselves.....then they put in the box the hand knitted dishrag (knitted out of one of the skeins that was sent to them in their box) and two new skeins of kitchen cotton and some trinkets to the next person....and so on and so on...and then the last person sends a box to the first person......I think this will be super fun.  I knitted my dishcloth and sent my box to the next recipient.....so I will be able to post pics next week of what I sent her!

Lastly, I finished one (just one) of my rainbow socks.....so I have a HO!

That is all I have for this week......I am going out of town next weekend so I am not sure how much knitting I will get done.....but I hope it is a lot!

I leave you with:

Happy Happy Happy Knitting!!!!

Knitting on FIVE things! Yippee

Wow....what a week.  How has your week been?  Mine was good.  I have been binge watching "Orange is the New Black" on Netflix and I really like it!

Well, let me jump right into it.......with stash enhancements.  Do you remember when Darlene went on vacation last year (and I almost died without her)?  Well, if you remember that, do you also remember the awesome yarn she bought me that I talked about here?  Well, we were going to make an Ink Cardigan, but now we are making Boxy with it....we each ordered a little bit more yarn in our colors so we have enough with Boxy.  Well......this yarn is so awesome, I got some more!  Beaverslide Dry Goods has more colors now than they did a year ago in this 1 ply sport weight yarn.  I got some Barley Heather (yellowish) and Thimbleberry (pinkish) and I LOVE THEM!  The yellow is really hard for me to photograph, so the 2nd picture is from their website.

I also got another bag from Darlene.....a long time ago I bought some sheep fabric.....then, she got me a needle case for my birthday out of the same fabric....then, I bought some sock needle cases out of the same fabric......so, she made me a medium bag with that material.....I love it!  Thank you Darlene!

Well, that is all I have for stash enhancements.....I've had lots of stash enhancements the last few weeks, and I really need to curb my spending!

I knitted on a bunch of things this past week!  I started a new shrug.....my friend from HiyaHiya asked me if I would hostesses another Shrug KAL on FB for her.....and of course I said yes.  I still have not finished the last shrug, but I have not frogged it either....I am really loving this one....probably because I am using awesome yarn for it instead of just acrylic....I am using the Thimbleberry from Beaverslide that I just got....I am really, really, really enjoying knitting this shrug...the yarn feels great to knit with.  I do hope you can join us here for a chance to win some awesome prizes.  Here is my progress so far

Then, I worked on my secret project (yes, that is a lifeline).....shhhhhhhhh

I also worked on my Miss Babs Ves Project

And....Yup, there is more.....I worked on 2 pairs of socks.  My Loopy Academy socks:

And another sock KAL for the HiyaHiya group.....these are colorwork....and I think I have decided that I do not dig colorwork that much......I just knit too tight....these will never fit me...and I am NOT starting over.....also, the pattern called for a STH (Sweet Tomato Heel)....but that required far too much concentration and I was just not feeling it.....so afterthought it is.  I know on the leg it is hard to see the colorwork because there is not much contrast in the yarns....but I am getting to the orange where there will be much more contrast on the foot.....and then I think there will be a lot of contrast on the 2nd sock too.  If you want to join us...the KAL is here.

So.....that is 5 things I worked on this week!  I hope I get to work on all of them again this week!  I have another pair of socks I want to get started for another HiyaHiya KAL...but I think I need to finish a pair of socks first....LOL!

Well, that is all I have.....Have a great week!  I leave you with some awesome Longhorn pictures a friend of mine took....her name is Vicki Meldrum and I just love these pictures!  These just make me thing of SPRING!!!!!!!!!!! She gave me permission to post them.....and she said she thought of me the whole time she was shooting the pictures!  SQEEEEEEEE that makes me feel great!

Happy Happy Knitting!
