HAPPY BIRTHDAY PRINCESS!!!!!

Today is Paige's 20th Birthday (yes, that makes me feel old).  I wanted to give her a shout out today as I know she is home not feeling well.  I hope you feel better soon!  Happy Birthday!

Okay....on to the knitting.  I do not feel like I have a whole lot to show you this week, but mostly because I have been working on my scarf swap and cannot show you that....but I do have a couple of FO's and something else I started.....

I finished the little girl sweater for my neighbor's child's baby.....

I also finished my Sesame Street Socks!  I love these!

I worked a little on my Fibernymph Inversible socks....

Then, do you remember that awesome yarn my friend spun for me?  Well, she has spun 2 for me, but the first one....I wound it and started an Ingot for me.  The yardage is 354 yards...and it is starting to look really awesome!

Then, I got the 2nd Bullseye bump she spun for me....this one is 516 yards....I am not sure what it is going to be yet, but it is going to be awesome!

I have some stash enhancements....I got some yarn from Vice Yarns Kick Starter (I pledged to them).....

I ordered some Wollmeise Blend in their black colorway (A girl can never have too much black...even if it is a pain to knit with!)

Darlene got me some Desert Vista Dyeworks  yarn in the Flintstones colorway....I love this!  I have already wound it and divided it into 2 skeins for socks!  Thank you Darlene!

I ordered another Yarn It because these things are just too cool!

I got a bag set from Birch Grove....Now, we all know I only use Bags By Awesome Grannie bags....but I saw this in my recommendations from Etsy and I just loved the little sheep zipper pulls and had to get them....they are not as large as Bags by Awesome, so they might just hold notions at my house or something, but I really loved the sheep on the material.

I got a new halloween bag set from Bags By Awesome Grannie....she has 2 new halloween bags this year and I had a hard time deciding (the other one is all orange with black cats) but in the end, I could not resist these orange, green, and purple polka dots on a black background...

Speaking of Halloween colors....I went to Hobby Lobby this week and got some orange, green and black beads to continue making stitch markers for the stitch marker swap at Stitches in September....so far I have 50 done and need to do about 100 more....but I think they are looking pretty good.

Oh, and the dogs got new collars this week....they were not as excited as I was!

Well, that is about all I have.....I hope you have a fabulous Labor Day next Monday......do not Labor too hard!  I do not have any plans....I think I will stay home, relax, and knit!

Camp is OVER!!!!

Well, it is over for me!  I finished my scarf.....yahoo, yippee, doing the happy dance.

I finished it late last night.  I blocked it all night and I am wearing it to work today....it does not matter that it will probably be 99-100 degrees today.....my office is usually a little cold, so I will be fine wearing it!

In the way of knitting....that is pretty much the main thing I knit on.  However, I did finish that cute gramps cardigan.  I did not put pockets on it.  Darlene picked up the buttons for me (because she is awesome)....

And I started the little girl sweater...I just need to do the sleeves.

I also started my scarf swap project.....but I cannot show you that for a while....so sorry.  I also have another secret project I am going to be starting soon.  It is a Christmas present for someone who I suspect might read my blog, so I do not want to give anything away...and I probably will not mention it again till Christmas....or until I give it to its recipient.
Well, I got one of those sock skeins of yarn in...and I love it!  It is Trailing Clouds yarn in the Mind the Gap colorway....I stalked her update for this....I am not sure if I am going to make a monster cowl or socks with this....we will see.

Stitches Texas is coming up September 17th - 20th and I AM GOING....I am so excited!  This will be my first 'BIG' yarn event.  I have been to small/local fiber festivals, but nothing like this......anyway, there is a forum on ravelry about doing a stitch marker swap.  I was just going to buy stitch markers, but my friend Mickie invited me to her house and showed me how to make some.....here are my first 2 stitch markers.....I need to make 150, so I have quite a bit more to make.

Well, that is really all I have.....and remember, my knitting may be 'thin' for a while as I work on a couple of things I will not be able to show you.  Oh, and I got to see 3 of my grand kids this week.  I picked up Antonio from daycare on Thursday and we played with his new "Secret Sewer Lair Playset"...and then the girls came over Saturday to Sunday.....Celeste and Cataleya are getting so big!  We also played withe same playset and the girls got to cool off in my tiny pool outside......I leave you with pics of them....and have a great week!

Surprise....yes, that is yarn and projects in the background....LOL!

They are the sweetest when they sleep!

Socks, Socks, Socks......

Yesterday was my parent's 47th Anniversary, so I had to send them a shout out!  Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

I have been in a sock mood lately.....I got both my Sesame Street Socks to the leg, and both afterthought heels are done (using opposite end of yarn)...I am kinda hoping to finish these this week.

Then, I did my first turkish cast on for toe up socks....I am making these black and white socks....the inversibles by Fibernymph!  I really like the cast on!

Then, I have some more sock yarn coming....so that is why my title is socks, socks, socks....but I guess I will have to show you those when they get here!

I also worked on the baby sweater for my neighbors baby......I am almost done, just need to finish the collar and weave in ends.  I do not think I will be adding pockets to this one.

And yes.....I am still slogging through my camp loopy project #3.  I am almost done with my 7th repeat...I was planning on doing 10 repeats, but depending on how long it is, I may bind off after 9 repeats (which is what the original pattern calls for).

I have a few stash enhancements....I needed to replace the pumpkin yarn I am using for the sweater (it was slated to be a blanket I will probably never finish) and then I got some pinky/purple to make a girl baby sweater for another baby.....the two babies getting these sweaters will be cousins.

Then, The Miss Babs Knitting Tour 2015 got Surprise Yarn this year....there were 9 colors that were randomly mailed (From L to R: Incomparable, Singular, Unique, Matchless, Extraordinary, Distinctive, Special, Peerless, Exclusive), and I got the one that was the 2nd to the end....but I traded for the bright green (the first one) and then I ordered one called 'Singular', the 2nd on the left...these are in the Hot Shot Base and I cannot wait to make some socks with them!

I traded this:
For this:
And I purchased this extra one:

I got 2 new bag sets from Bags By Awesome Grannie.....I could not help myself....the camp bag has little fires with roasting marshmallows inside and the motorcycle bag has map material on the inside....Darlene is a Genius!

Now.....here come two of my most exciting stash enhancements....First, the yarn my friend spun for me...Thank you Laurel!

Secondly are some needles.....new Dyakcraft Needles.  Dyakcraft announced their new Black Nickel Needles last week.....but I was lucky to got a pair of them a few weeks ago, and I have been test knitting them.  If you go the page where they sell these needles, you will see I am the 2nd review (1/2 way down the page).  Now, I sent this email to Tom not knowing that it would be a review...so you have to understand my personality with all those questions.....and of the course the commas should have been periods...but I was pretty excited when I sent him the message because I really do love the needles (and yes, I have a full set on order).  I have a picture comparing all the tips (Black Nickel, Silver Nickel, and Lavender)....and then my black needles in my new spun yarn.....

Lastly, I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful prayers for Baby....she had surgery and is doing just fine....she does not like her cone, but she is managing....when she lays with me in my chair and I know she cannot lick, I take the cone off for some cuddling and knitting time.

I leave you with some crafty pics (I want the T-shirt) and a great pet saying from a great friend...
