Howdy Ya'll! Did you set your clocks forward Saturday Night?
I hope you had a fantastic week. I am about to go crazy with this continental knitting...but I am not giving up yet.
Let me start out with some stash enhancements......remember that yarn I told you I ordered from Poland....to make the Hanging Cocoon for Antonio? Well, some of it made it...and look at these packages....they were about to fall apart by they time they made it to me.
Now, I only got 2 of the packages....I still have one on the way...I hope it does not get lost. I got all 6 skeins of the Charcoal colorway, but only 2 of the Red....so I am still waiting on 4 more skeins of Red.
Darlene got a skein of some Knitted Wit yarn as a gift from a podcast called The Knotty Knit Wits....and I fell in love with it. So, I had to get myself one....the colorway is Autumn Rainbow! Isn't it cute?
Then, I met a lady on ravelry that wanted to buy some of my DVD yarn...and she has these little knitted voodoo dolls as her ravatar and I had to look up the pattern....it is called "VooDoo you love me?" So I bought that pattern and I may either use this Knitted Wit yarn or some Yowza yarn I have for these stuffed voodoo thingy's I want to make.
That is it for the stash enhancements...so onto the knitting.
I really only worked on two things this week....my March socks and my Citadel.
I got both sleeves started....now I just need to finish both sleeves, and do the collar, a small amount of seaming and I should be done! I know that sounds so easy....but it will take me a long time....but I will keep cranking away at it.
Oh, I also did maybe 3-5 rows on my 3 Color Cashmere Shawl...but I did not take a picture.
The only other thing I did was to start that Cocoon for Antonio...now, I could not wind this yarn on my yarn ball winder (because the yarn is more like ROPE). However, I was able to use the awesome nostepinne she got me to wind the rope...this cocoon is not going to be easy....the rope is stiff and hard to knit with.
Well, that is really all I have....I know it does not seem like much, but I tried.
Don't forget to wear Green this coming Thursday for St. Patrick's Day!
Have a great week everyone! It is Spring Break here in SA this week and we might be going to the lakehouse....not sure yet...I will let you know :)
Happy Happy Happy Knitting!
This blog is about my life....and I am completely addicted to knitting, so it is the Life of a Knitphomaniac! You will hear about my knitting, kids, grandkids, and just things going on. I hope you enjoy!

It's March already!
Can you believe it is March already? Today is my Daddy's 79th birthday....next year will be the big 80!
Here is a picture of my daddy enjoying lunch with family a few weeks back....Not the best picture, but I still wanted to say Happy Birthday Daddy!
I had a great week.....I won a prize from the Knotty Knit Wits Podcast...some Vanilla Almond Soap from Tuft Wollens. Thank you Leslie and Michelle!
Darlene got me a Gleener for my Birthday...I have not used it yet, but I cannot wait to try it out! Of course she got me Orange...Thank you Darlene!
I think I told you a couple of weeks ago that Darlene gave me an 'owl' of hers...this is a cute little bag that holds a skein of yarn caked up...they are made by Diana Couture...well, since she gave me one of hers....she was ordering another one so I ordered along with her....this one has hearts all over it! I do love putting my yarn in these.
I also got a new table from my daughter for my Birthday.....When I sit and knit at home, I sit in a recliner (that I call "The Pimp Chair") and I have an end table to my left and two tv trays to my right (I like to spread out).
Well, I think the TV trays looked pretty ghetto, so Paige got me this awesome table...it took me FOREVER to put it together, but I LOVE IT...Thank you Princess! I think it looks much better!
Dyakcraft came out with some new rose colored Northern Lights....so Darlene ordered us some...and I am going to give her a set of my orange ones (since I have two)....I am sooooo excited...thanks Darlene!
My last Stash enhancement was ordering some yarn from Poland....Yup, all the way from Poland.....It almost cost more to ship it than it cost for the yarn....but I had to get this yarn. A wonderful lady from the LSSK group I am a member of sends us emails weekly with all sorts of free knitting patterns (her name is Alice and almost all the pictures I post at the end of my blog are from her)....well, she sent us this and I was in LOVE....I really want to knit this for Antonio and I am hoping I can knit it before he turns 5 (wish me luck!). I ordered the Bobbiny Yarn to make it. I ordered Red and Charcoal yarn....now, I know I will not be able to sew the insert...but I was thinking of purchasing a bean bag for the inside part.
Now, onto the knitting....I only worked on 3 things this week.....I started my DVD socks for March....My gauge is a little looser when I just knit in the round...so I am going with a 60 stitch sock (instead of my usual 64). I thought this yarn was green with 2 different Zomby Decomp stripes in between the green...but it looks like it might be 3 different Zomby Decomp stripes....we will see!
I worked on my 3CCShawl...the Grocery Girls Podcast is doing a KAL for this shawl and Darlene really wanted to make one....I am one row away from starting the 2nd band...I am using my new Yarn Owl with the project...it does not look like much on this small cord, but there are over 200 stitches on the needle.
And, I worked on my Citadel....I have not taken a picture in a while, so here is a progress picture. I am not done with the ribbing on the bottom...but I was getting tired of it....so I went ahead and picked up the stitches for one sleeve and did the short rows on one side. I am liking the way it looks so far!
That is all I have....I know it does not seem like much, but I did have Antonio and Celeste this weekend....we went to go see my son, Celeste's Dad......the kids were well rested by the time we got there...LOL!
When we got home, Antonio wanted to make some art work for my fridge....Check this out...new definition of Art Work on the Fridge!
I also have some pics of Celeste spending some time with her cousin....
Well....that is all I have for the week.....
Have a great week....Happy Happy Happy Knitting!

Happy Leap Day!
This year is a Leap Year and today is Leap Day! So, Happy Leap Day!
I had a crazy busy week. It was my Birthday last week and I got lots of goodies and had a fantastic week!
Darlene posted the greatest picture on my FB page:
Google even knew it was my special day:
My friend Suzi got me my favorite shortbread cookies form Panera (my friend Amy got me a scone and cinnamon roll for breakfast, but I ate them before I could snap a picture):
Yvette sent me well wishes with pictures of my Celesete and Cataleya at the rodeo!
Jaime got me beautiful orange roses and a bottle of wine!
Darlene got me a fancy nostepinne! She even had my name engraved on it. I wound one skein of the yarn for my Citadel on it. It is sooooo cute! It is not as easy as it seems...but it was fun!
My parents gave me a Spätzle maker. For Mother's Day last year, my sister brought one of these makers to my mom's house and we made Spätzle with it. It was delicious....Now I cannot wait to make it whenever I want just for me :)
They also gave me a Packet to help me make the mushroom Cream sauce to go with the Spätzle and some Schnitzel.
My parent's asked me what I wanted for my "Birthday Dinner" and I told them I wanted steak. Not just any steak, but a steak my parents call "Jerry Golden Steak". The steak is usually a flank steak but what makes it "Jerry Golden" is a certain sauce a friend of theirs (named Jerry Golden) made. The sauce has Butter, Worcestershire Sauce, and some Seasoning all mixed up (yea, all low fat stuff...LOL)! My dad also got a Kobe Steak Cut and some lobster tails.....it was delicious....here is what was left (right before I finished it off)!
Then...Jaime took me to Fredericksburg, TX for just a one night stay....there is a German restaurant there that serves Spätzle and we had made these plans before I knew I would be getting a Spätzle maker from my parents as a present....so here is my meal at Ausländer:
We walked the streets of Fredericksburg and got some homemade fudge and I got Antonio a long candy necklace (Long story why I only got him one...but I watched him on Friday evening and Saturday and I took him to my parents for the rest of Saturday and told him I would bring him something back and I was supposed to watch him on Sunday, but Bizzle ended up watching him), and I got myself a Pumpkin Spice Candle...this candle smells very cinnamon-y and I love it...I have already burnt it in my house and I love the smell! It will last 120-140 hours :)
I also stopped at a fabric shop that had some yarn....but not really yarn I was looking for....I did see this absolutely adorable fabric....but I did not buy any and now I kind of wish I would...but I would have to ask Darlene to sew a bag for me and she does enough for me already so it is good that I did not buy any :)
Oh, and on the way to Fredericksburg....Jaime stopped in Comfort so I could go to The Tinsmith's Wife....I was good, I only got some colorful stitch markers.
Oh, and last but not least....Precious got to go to the groomers for pampering on my Birthday (but she does not consider it pampering).....Yes, I swear this is the same dog...one pic taken in the morning and one in the afternoon...I feel so terrible for taking so long to take her!
Now, I bet you are wondering if I got to knit at all (since this is a knitting blog)...Well, I did!
I worked a little on my Citadel...When I watched Antonio over the weekend, he saw me try it on and of course he said "I wanna try!" so I put it on him too! He loved it...LOL!
I finished my February Socks....just in the knit of time (pun intended). This is my first pair of socks where I did a true afterthought heel and cut my knitting...
Tomorrow I get to start my March socks and I have my yarn ready:
The only other thing I worked on is new....yup, we all know I have nothing else to knit on....so Darlene really wants to make the 3 Color Cashmere Shawl by Joji Locatelli...so I stash dove....I am going to use some yarn that was part of a club kit last year along with some Wollmeise in Blend in Black that I had...I want to call it "What's Black and White and Pink All Over"...LOL!
Here is my start:
I have been doing really well with my Continental knitting....the above shawl is almost all continental. The beginning tab start was done throwing, and I find myself throwing on accident sometimes, but over 90% of it is all continental....Yeah Me!
I leave you with a couple of pics....one is a gorgeous wreath my sister got me from a church auction and one is my mom's orchid. On the LSSK thread, some of the ladies are always showing their gorgeous orchids...when I went my mom's house, hers was in bloom and so pretty, I had to take a picture.
Have great week everyone....I hope you get lots of knitting
