So many prayers for Texas!!!

Hello everyone....I hope you are all well and safe and sound.  There was some really bad flooding in Texas these last few days.  The most devastating flooding was along the Guadalupe River in Kerr County (by Kerrville)....but honestly, there was flooding in so many places that just did not make the news because it was not as bad as the flooding in Kerrville.  There were 750 girls camping at Camp Mystic, and I think the ages were 8 to 11 (I am not 100% sure, but my point is they were young girls) and while I do not know the exact count, I think there are approx 27 dead from the camp, but a total count of 82 people dead with still dozens missing......and, we are forecasted for more rain.  So if you pray or talk to someone of a higher power in your mind....please pray for Texas.

My sister was at her lakehouse, and lake LBJ was not immune to the flooding.....but they are all okay!  The lake did rise, but it was not terrible in the cove where her home is.

There was a fire though....on someone elses boat in the cove where my sister has her lake house.  These are not the greatest images, but they are screenshots from a video as I cannot quite figure out how to get a video uploaded here to my blog.

My newphew, Sean, put the fire out by splashing water with his wave runner on to the boat several times.  The Granite Shoals PD came by to thank him and give him a coin reward of some sort.  I am so proud of him!

Lupe and I went on a few walks (prior to the rain...plus, SA was not really flooding), and he spotted a hawk (he really knows his birds way better than I do) and I spotted a deer.  We actually saw dozens of deer, but this one was pretty close and did not seem to want to leave the trail till we were very close.

There was one day last week where I had to take my mom to her Oncologist appointment.  Lupe went on a bike ride without me.....he took this pic.....I love it! <3

Now.....for the knitting (and crocheting).  I actually got a lot of squares done for Antonio's AI Granny Square blanket.  We go to the lakehouse in approx 10 days and I want to have a bunch of squares done so I can start attaching them with black while I am there.

I also got some new yarn.....Wolltraum.

These yarns were purchased for a reason....but I am going to keep it a bit of a secret for now.  I have one project started with some yarn I already had and my plan is to make 2 blankets....but, as usual, I might have bitten off more than I can chew, so I am going to go with the first one first and see what happens.

Here is a sneak peak

I also started a new sweater that I hope will be a nice mindless project for the lakehouse (you know me...I am going to finish 38 things in 3 days.....LOL!).  The pattern is called Audrey and honestly, I can see myself making more of these in different colors!  This is Must Stash Sweater Girl Yarn in the Penny colorway

I also got both legs of my Staple Sock KAL done.

Lastly, this little ball of sass had Wet Wednesday last week....she loves the water!

Well, that is all I have.  I hope yall have a fabulous week!!!

Hats, Hats, and more Hats!

Hi everyone!  Today is my 47th Birthday and I have already had so many wonderful messages wishing me a Happy Birthday....thank you everyone!

This past week I mostly worked on HATS!

You saw I finished Casey's hat and started Brinley's in my last post....well I finished Brinley's and then started, finished, undid, redid and finished a hat for Kagan!

This was Kagan's but I thought it was too small

So I took it out and added a repeat:

I am much happier with it this way!

I will get these out in the mail to Casey today.

That is really all I did this past week....Darlene and I podcasted last Thursday, and Friday Jaime took me out to dinner....we had steak and ribs....It was yummy!

He got me some beautiful orange roses and a bottle of wine to.  We had a wonderful and romantic weekend.

Darlene bought me (and her) the Biscotte yarns needed to make the Vortex cardigan in the new colors of the updated pattern.  It has Brioche, colorwork and a cable...I am so excited....I cannot wait to start this!

Plus the cutest matching bag set to go with it....look at those sheep knitting.....THANK YOU DARLENE!

I also got a series 4 apple watch in rose gold....not a color I thought I would love, but I love it....it is the 44mm, which I think I would prefer the 40mm, but this 44m screen is growing on me....kind of like when the plus phones came out and we thought they were too big and I would not dream of getting anything smaller now....just takes some getting used to.

I have picked out the hat I am going to do for March:

Celeste and Cat have a brother...Alessandro Liam....so I have a new grandson.  He is beautiful and I cannot wait to meet him in person

Lastly, some of my fav pics from the week....Antonio got a haircut....Paige's dogs loving on each other and Bizzle having a burger with her Great Dane.

Have a great week everyone!

Happy Belated Valentine's 🧡🧡🧡🧡

Hey everyone.....how ya been?  Well, we had Valentine's Day and President's Day last week.....I thought I would share some pics of a few of the people and pets I love and were all my Valentines!

I have other Valentine's too....but these are the ones I got some great pics of.

I got my Crochet Club February Shipment....and Jimmy Beans Wool Tweeted about it....I loved their pic.......

I finished the Football Hat for Paige, but with the colorwork, I think it is too small, so it will go to Antonio.

I also got new yarn to make Darlene's son, Casey, a hat.  Casey's youngest daughter, Brinley, races motorcycles in motor cross, and her team colors are HOT Pink and Kawasaki Green....the pattern is called  Acacia Mosaic Beanie.....Mosaic is a little different than stranded color work, with this hat, I only  use one color at a time.

Now I am going to make Brinley one that is opposite...with pink as MC and green as CC:

I also started a crochet blanket for a friend of the York family, Camille:

Then Paige saw the light gray and dark gray together (before the pink was added) and she loved it....so I started one for her with an olive green:

Now, I decided to do a different pattern for Paige's blanket...it is the pattern I used for the baby blankets and I think it is less hole-y.  Well, Casey's blanket that Darlene made him is a bit hole-y and Casey just moved into a new house and he is redoing his room in green and creams...so I am going to make him a new non-hole-y blanket with green and creams, but I do not have the yarn yet....I am sure he will love it!

Then, for my birthday (next Monday) Darlene ordered both of us yarn to make the New Vortex Cardigan Pattern....this one has some colorwork and cables in it along with Brioche!  I LOVE IT!  Thank you Darlene....the yarn should be here the 22nd, I cannot wait!

Plus, Darlene and I both want to make the All of the Lights Cardigan.....  we will both use Madeline Tosh DK Twist Yarn.  I will use Cosmic Silver and she will use Holi Grunge...I'm so excited, but the pattern does look complex.

Well, I think that is all I have....This coming week I am hoping to finish the blankets for Camille, Paige and Casey and the hat for Brinley....yes, that is lots of goals...but then I can jump back onto Grace's sweater and maybe start either the Vortex or All the Lights Cardigan......wish me luck!!

Have a great week everyone!
