Testing out the RV

Hey everyone.....how have you been.  I have been great.  I am on vacation today doing laundry and stuff to get ready for my work week....this past weekend Jaime and I went to Bandera in his new RV to "Test it out" before we take it for a week long trip somewhere farther and for a longer period of time.

The river is down there....

I saw a doe watch me knit!

It even comes with a "Knitting Drawer" (this is what Jaime has named it).

Here we are leaving yesterday

I also got new chairs like the one I showed you last week.....two new chairs to take camping

While there I worked the Havana Kit that Rosanna gave me (because she is amazing).  She did the first 6 rows, but I finished the repeat with the last 8 rows!

I finished the body on George the Dog

and I started some fingerless mitts for Camille

My step son and his wife were also on vacation....they went to Florida.....I think their first vacay away from the kiddos

When I got home to my babies, it turns out that Jax got super bored....he unzipped a knitting bag and chewed up some of the yarn from Paige's wallaby....plus a longhorn bag...one of my t-shirts (he did not chew it, I think he just wanted it near him)....and my cream sweater......while this was terrible to come home....I still love him to pieces.

I ended up throwing away about 35 grams.

Later that evening, Antonio was sharing popcorn with Jax.

while sharing pics of Jax....I have to share a pic of poor Chief in his cone (he has an infection on his paw that he cannot lick).

Some great news was that my cousin's daughter had a beautiful baby boy......7/17/19

Lastly, I got a great package from HiyaHiya....thank you Qianer!!

Y'all have a great week!

I LOVE FOOTBALL!

Well, I just had to let you all know how much I have missed watching Football.  On the weekend of the 9th, I helped Paige move and did not see any football....then, on the weekend of the 16th, we were in CA and I again did not see any football.  So yesterday, nothing was staying between me and my football......well, almost nothing!

I watched the Patriots loose to the Broncos.....Yeah, that is the exact outcome I wanted!

Then I started to watch the Panthers spank the Cardinals.....but Antonio and Paige came over, so I helped Paige with a little bit of homework and played with Antonio.....I was hoping that my 'not watching' would help the score turn around, but I was wrong.  I really wanted Arizona to win (I love Larry Fitzgerald) but oh well.....now it is time to root for Broncos to take it all the way and win the Superbowl!

With all the football watching....I did get lots of knitting done (Yeah me!)!!!

I got both the mitts for my cousin past the thumb gusset....now just for a little more than an inch on each of these and some fingers and Viola!

I also worked on My Karee Shawl....I am loving the way this is turning out!

Then it was time to pull out something OLD!   I started this weight it shawl back in March of last year....well, I was not that far along at all (see old blog post here)......Well, Darlene bought another skein of this yarn so we could split the skein and make the weight it shawl larger.....so I pulled it out so I could A) use some needles that I cannot tell you about yet, and B) start alternating skeins.  I frogged the tiny beginning and restarted it with alternating skeins...the skeins look pretty drastically different, but  I think they look okay alternated...what do you think?

Maybe it does not seem like I did a lot of knitting...but it sure feels like I did a lot!

I got a new bag from Awesome Grannie....it is Sugar Skulls and I love it!

I also got yarn for my Citadel Cardigan.  I am going to use my new Sugar Skulls bag for this KAL that starts January 31st.  Now, I really want to win that sweater's worth of yarn....but I do not think I will be able to finish my cardigan first....unless I call in sick for a month and do not sleep...LOL!  Darlene is doing this KAL also and she did a couple of swatches and blocked them and everything.....so I decided to do the same.  I swatched in a US 8 unblocked and got exact gauge, then swatched in a US 6 and aggressively blocked and I did not like the drape...so I am going with a US 7 (and no swatch in a US 7....I am a rebel):

Lastly, I wound my yarn for my February Socks...Zombody is driving the school bus!

That is pretty much all I have......but I do want to tell you about my getting to see a yarn store in Canada.  I friend on Ravelry, Paulette aka mamiepooh, called me via facetime when she went to the Biscotte & Cie Yarn store in Quebec.....I got to meet the owner, Louise, and see the fabulous store.  Louise has asked me to help moderate her Ravelry group and of course I accepted (she is super busy with the shop).  It was wonderful to see the snow in Quebec and the lovely yarn store and meet Louise and Ginette aka Olithia on ravelry.  Thanks Paulette!!!  I should have gotten some pictures during facetime, but I was afraid I would mess up and hang up on them.....so I will share some pictures of some wonderful patterns Louise has with her dyed yarn:

Well, that is all I have......have a fantastic week everyone!

Happy New Year 2016 = Startitis 2016!

Happy New Year!  I hope you guys all had a fantastic New Year!  I had a nice New Years Eve and was in bed about 10 min before midnight (Exciting, I know)!  However, since the 1st of January I have managed to turn this year into a startitis year!  I cast on 4 new project!  YIKES!

Last week I posted about 5 things I needed to start...well, I started 3 of them and then added 1 more:

1.  mitts for my cousin in Germany   Ã¼
2.  mitts for Antonio in rainbow color.....not yet!
3.  DVD sock of the month (I will use the Flintstones colorway)ü
4. the Karee Shawl...this will be a KAL in the Bags by AwesomeGrannie ravelry groupü
5. the grey socks for Paige.....not yet!
6.  Converse socks for my aunt  Ã¼

Here they are......

Yes, I know...they are all just barely started.....but they are started because I had a big case of startitis!

Also, did you notice that my socks were on DPN's?  Well, they are Darlene's Signature DPN's...and every once in a while I feel like trying DPN's and then I try them and remember how much I like magic loop better.....so these are back on magic loop....here is my progress on one of them being moved to magic loop....and thank you to Darlene for always letting me borrow her DPN's every once in a while!

Now, I may have started 4 things, but I did finish 2 things (hey, half ain't bad).

I finished the socks for Chris:

And the mitts for me :)

I do have a few stash enhancements too.....Darlene got me this awesome gauge ruler....you put it over your knitting and if the drawings on the ruler match your knitting, you found your gauge :)

Then, I got a package from the UK...this is for the Hiya Hiya Product Swap....Pauline (aka kisho on ravelry) send me this awesome yarn, notepad and CHOCOLATE.....if you look really close, the chocolate package with Santa on it has a knit pattern in the background....I love it!  I am waiting on one last HiyaHiya Swap Package.

A couple of weeks ago I got the cutest ornament from a knitting friend....I forgot to show you because it went straight onto my tree....well, I took my tree down yesterday and I had to take a picture to show you.  Inside this ornament is a pair of knitting needles, longhorn orange yarn and cream yarn with a little label on it that makes it look like a Miss Babs Skein of yarn and I note that says In case of Emergency, BREAK GLASS Christmas 2015.....Thank you Debbie!  You are so wonderful, I am thankful to know you and have you as a friend!

My last stash enhancement is not knitting related....it is my Christmas gift from Jaime....it has a long story behind it that I will not type out, but it is a pair of wireless headphones for me to use at work.  I love them!  I have been using them all day!

Well, that is all I have.....I hope everyone has a fantastic New Year with lots of new Projects and lots of new Finished Objects!  Do you have any new Years Resolutions?

Happy Happy Happy Knitting!
