Still No Granddaughter!

Hey everyone.  How are you. Well, my daughter was due April 23rd.  This past Monday she went to the hopsital to be induced.  Well, after several hours of administering pitocin, they sent her home.  Her contractions were coming in hot.....and then all fo a sudden they kinda slowed down and the intensity was much lower.......so they sent her home.

So, according her her last menstrual cycle, her due date was April 23rd....but apparently there were also 2 sonograms and according to the baby's measurements, that put her due dates at both April 27th and May 4th.....so I guess the dr is taking the latest of the dates.....which is this Saturday.  Now, Paige has been in labor for DDDDAAAYYYYSSSS and she is pretty tired of being pregnant and ready to have this baby.  I think this little girl has a bit of stubborness......and I can only imagine where she gets it from.....LOL!!!!!

So, I finished the crochet blanket and this is just going in a basket for future baby gifts.

After Paige toured the hospital, she told me the hospital was cold and asked me to make the baby a hat......so I made 2

Darlene sent me a jewelry row counter (I used when making the hats) and it is pretty cool....she also sent me tea and some of my favorite pens (and Paige's favorite pens because Paige is always stealing them). <3

Lastly, I had the most delicious salad from Las Palapas the other day I have to share.  It is the Stuffed Avocado (with shrimp) dish and half of the 'al carbon' salad....this was sooooo good, I might get another this week.

Now that I shared a fairly healthy salad....I have to share a story with you from yesterday.  Have you ever heard of a cronut?  Well in some of the romance novels I had read, they are always talking about cronuts (one of the main characters owns a bakery)....anyway, I have been thinking of them for MONTHS...and I aske Paige (who is a lover of all donuts) if she knows where they sell them.....and she pulled them up on a grocery app (HEB which is in Texas only) and they are not called Cronuts (what I had been searching for), but instead Glazed Croissant Donut (how simple).....anyway, so after we left the hospital, I went to Paige's HEB (not too far from mine, but a different one than the one I usually shop at) to get one......and.......

They were totally sold out........so this morning after my workout....I went to my parent's HEB (close to gym) and FINALLY!!!!!!

If you have anywhere that sells cronuts, sometimes croinuts, or just plain old glazed croissants......GO GET ONE......they are delicious!

Have a great week!

So this is Fifty-One!

Hey yall.....I have made it to another birthday....this is fifty-one....and while I know that is 'young', but do I feel old some days....but I digress.

I had a fabulous birthday hanging out with Antonio....I was supposed to go bowling with Paige, Kody and Antonio....but Paige went out with the girls the night before to the rodeo and was not feeling her best...so I decided to postpone till this week...I am actually more excited that she had fun with Sam and Bizz!  Here are my girls:

This week Antonio wanted to make MORE strawberries so we got hydroponic ones....these are huge!

He also got these ridiculously hot cheese puffs!

And we finished one puzzle

I ordered another puzzle that is going to look like this....at least I hope it makes it to me.  I have ordered this puzzle once already and it was delivered to Massachusetts...go figure!

I finished Paige's socks

I also pulled out an OLD wip (a blanket for Paige) where I make 20 squares...these squares have tons of cables so it take a lot of thinking power...but maybe one day I will have it done

I also worked on my christmas yarn socks....I have never made socks with this long a cuff, but I want to use ALL this yarn and show the gradient so I am going with a super long cuff!

I got some yarn in to make those slippers Paulette made for Tone and I....

Oh, and since it was my birthday....I went to an amazing dinner last night, where I managed to not get a single picture.....my parents got me another pair of Hoka Shoes (Paige got me my first pair last year and I love them).

Erich and Devinne, Erich's girlfriend, got me some tea and the greatest notebook

And Paige is taking me bowling this week (hopefully I remember to get a picture)!  It was a fabulous birthday!  Thank you for all the amazing messages and well wishes!

That is all I have ...have a great week

Socks, Socks, Socks....Sock Madness?

Hi everyone....how has your week been?  Mine has been pretty good...except Paige had her purse stolen from her car Saturday night/Sunday morning.....I told her she was an idiot for leaving her purse in her car while out with friends....so hopefully lesson learned.

On to knitting......

I was able to finish my round 2 sock madness socks:

Then yesterday....the round 3 sock pattern was released.  It is called Safe Harbor (pattern here)

Here is a picture of them (copyright © Amy Rapp):

Now....I want to do them.....but....I have SOOOOOO many socks I WANT/NEED to do.  First there is the new yarn I just got....I want/need to make these:

Then there are the gryffindoor socks I need to make for Paige:

Then there is some new yarn I just got.....Darlene has a customer that sent her 2 skeins of Regia 4 ply self striping yarn and the colorway is of the German flag....when I mentioned this to my mom, she said "I may have to call Tante Mecki to get me some of that yarn so you can make me some of those."  My mother has never really 'asked' for me to make her anything and if she said she is gonna call her sister for yarn like this, then I know she will love these socks....so I told her no need to call Tante Mecki....I will make her socks with this yarn!  So again...another pair I need to make!

So yesterday I got yarn wound to start my Round 3 socks....I was thinking of using my Harry Potter Sirius's Gift colorway:

and then I busted out the Germany Flag yarn into two cakes to make matching socks and was gonna cast on......but.....some sort of wave of responsibility came over me.....and I told myself I need to finish my fingerless mitts before I allow myself to cast on more socks.  I tried to push Ms. Responsibility to the backburner, but she was not budging......so I worked on my mitts and have not cast on new socks (yet):

I told myself that as soon as I finish these mitts, I can cast on the round 3 socks and maybe my moms socks....then I thought of maybe doing the round 3 socks with the Germany yarn......but I need to look through some projects and see if anyone else is using self striping yarn.....

Now onto some Yarn Diet Breaking.....my friend, Rosanna, was working on the Augusta Shawl on the cruise with Wolltraum gradient yarn and I loved it.....so I got myself 2 skeins of this yarn...Cinnamon Girl and a custom color of "50 Shades of Grey"......

I am using the Cinnamon Girl for the Augusta shawl...and I am thinking of a large Jacket/vest for the grey.

Since I was working on the Augusta Shawl and it is crochet.....I thought that I should also catch up my temperature blanket....it is almost 20"  :)  I am caught up all the way to the 21st of April!

Well, that is really all I have......I got my flavor of the month tea from plum deluxe...Orange Black Tea

and I leave you with this morning's sunrise view from my work....Have a great week!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Can you believe it is going to be Valentine's Day already tomorrow?  I hope you got your sweetie something special!!!

So most of you know that Darlene and I love to give presents to each other for birthday's and Christmas.....and we can hardly ever wait to give the present....I gave Darlene her birthday present early and she gave me mine early.....and I tell you, I got the most awesome present on the planet!  She gifted me the entire Leading Men Fiber Arts 2016 Year In Review Set....I LOVE every single one of these!  I cannot wait to use them.  I was not sure what I was going to make....but I have decided....I am going to make a Crochet Blanket with all of these and add some black and maybe gray in it....then I can wrap myself in this awesomeness whenever I want.  Thank you Darlene!  You are the Bestest!

Guess what I finished?  PAIGE'S SWEATER!  I even wore it to work one day before giving to her.

It is not as long as I thought it would be...but I loved it and so did Paige!

I worked a little on my secret project with my Kauni Yarn, and I worked on my Snowmelt MKAL.  I am liking how this is knitting up so far....here is Clue 1 complete, and I am now behind on clue 2, but hope to catch up this week.

I know I share far too many of my sunrise pictures...but I wanted to share a view of what I see when I walk into my team's area in the morning.....it can be very breath taking.

I got my 2016 Exclusive Colorway from DVD....I love it...I took a picture outside so you can see the great colors!

I got some Tea from a company called Harney & Sons....one of my LSSK gals told me about it....So Billie Rae, if you are reading this, this is ALL YOUR FAULT....I put both of these together in my tea pot and it is just delicious!

I went to my parents on Saturday so Precious could spend some more time with Bella (their dog) and my dad surprised me and my mom with the most delicious lunch!  Lobster!  It was YUMMY (Antonio did not want to try it, but he was fascinated with their eyes....LOL!)!!!

Let's see....what else....Oh, I worked a little on my February Socks:

And my Fade...it is getting really big and it is hard to photograph.  I did have a mess up in this...and had to frog about 7 or 8 rows...but it is back on track!

Well, that is all I worked on knitting wise.....I did clean my house to get ready for my visitor on Thursday.  Her name is Paulette and we met online on Ravelry, she was going to come visit last year but things did not work out and I had Carol living with me then.  So this year she called and we planned her visit around the Spring SAFR Retreat......yup, she will be going with me and Darlene to the Knitting Retreat....we are all so excited.

So there was lots of cleaning this past weekend.....Oh and playing with Antonio:

Well, that is all I have....I am going to leave you with picture overload of Paige's sweater (and a couple of Precious)....The first picture is the picture that Paige sent me and the picture I tried to copy to make the sweater....the rest are of Paige of course!

I have the knitting retreat this coming weekend so be prepared for my ooohing and ahhhing over that!

Have a great week everyone!  Happy Happy Happy Knitting!
