Not as much as recently......

Hey everyone.  How are you?  I am great.....but, I have not been knitting or crocheting as much as in more recent posts....I guess my brain/body/both just needed a break...LOL!  I hope to change that this week and get in more "stitching"!

First.....my darling Mia (Erich's fiance's Goddaughter) is officially in remission!  Praise the Lord I am so happy.  They also had a "fairy" themed event in Scotland and while she could not participate in actual parade, she was able to go and watch.  Coley's dad got her fairy wings and flower crown.....This girl's smile is just phenomenal!

Last week, I took a day off with Lupe as he was going to do his first "package delivery" route for a job....I was planning on being in car all day and knitting (being there just if he needed me for technology on the app or something), but we got there to get the packages and apparently it was a slow day and all the packages were accounted for.....so.......we went to the Japanese tea garden

Now remember....I was "planning" on being in the car all day....not having pics taken of me....LOL!

Then, we went to play put put golf (Lupe has never played)....he beat me by 3 strokes.

We also went to Rolando's....the best tacos on the planet!

and of course followed the best tacos ever with cookies!

I was asked to test knit a shawl for the NEL advent event so I agreed....this is the yarn I am going to use (I ordered last week)

We ordered a new shower curtain for the guest bathroom....I thought it might look to childish, but I absolutely love it and it matches the Highland cow that Paulette made me a few years ago with diamond painting.....I love it so much!

I got the headphones of my dreams....they were very discounted (the main reason I purchased now instead of waiting).  I have finished 2 books in 4 days....LOL!

Now for stitching.....first, Antonio asked if his blanket was ready.....LOL!

So....I got busy on some more squares....

I do not know if you have heard of new wave knitting, but it is a designer that is IMO a math geek like me and likes to make patterns where you input your gauge (with whatever yarn and needles you want to use) and sizes of your body or head or feet and then the pattern automagically kicks out your exact numbers......She is also hostessing a KAL with her new Staple Sock pattern......I have been wanting to do some hand knit socks for a while, so I thought this is the perfect time.

So here are my socks

and I also worked a little on my sister's cardigan.  I put it backward so you can see the cabling.

Well, that is all I have.....I hope you have a great week!

Heatwave!

Hey everyone....how have you been?  Staying cool?  It has been HOT, HOT, HOT here.....super heatwave!  My AC seems like it has been running non stop for days.  My house is old and not very well insulated, so I should really fix that. This past Saturday was supposed to be our hottest day of the year (according to the news).  When I went out, it was 108!

So staying inside to knit was definitely on the calendar.  I really only worked on 2 things this week......My dad's ranger and my Briochevron Cowl.

Here is the Ranger:

Here is the Cowl.....I worked on this more than anything else.....I am sooooo close to being done!

There is a progress keeper in this last photo towards the bottom so you can see how much I did.

I am hoping to finish that super small lip amount today....a little at lunch today and a little tonight and I should be FINISHED!

I got my yarn from Yarn Café Creations....Thank you Christy!

I got the Red Cereza Malabrigo Rios from Wool Warehouse (since I used my yarn for my dad's Ranger):

I also got a Simone Cardigan Kit from We Are Knitters.....these kits are very expensive, however I have to say the quality of what I have seen so far is fabulous!  The box was sturdy, each kit came in its own sturdy bag nicely arranged.  The pattern is in a small envelope and so far there is a small part of the pattern (the materials section) that appears wrong....that can be a little frustrating when you are purchasing such and expensive kit....but oh well.  They really kind of get you because their patterns are not available for purchase unless you buy the kit.  Darlene's oldest granddaughter, Kagan, wants a bulky sweater and she picked this one....so of course I have to make it with her (DUH!) and I am making one for Paige.

I started a new sweater for me...but screwed up and had to frog the whole thing....Which is giving me the sign that it was not meant to be and I already have too many things on the needles!!  But I really want to make this.....maybe after the Big 4!

I won an Instagram Contest from Space Cadet and got a gift certificate....with the gift certificate I got this skein of yarn....it is called Oxblood, but it is more pinkish than I expected:

The podcast got some yarn from Lavender Mountain Yarns for a giveaway...we get to keep one skein and give one skein away...this yarn feel soooooo good!  Thank you Lynda!

Remember my rose I got last week for my Mammogram...well it bloomed beautifully!

That is all I have folks.....Have a great week!

I must really love a few people:

Where does the time go?

Hi everyone.....how was your week?  Mine was great but it felt like it flew by too quickly!

What have I done?  Well, I worked on my socks for Tour De Sock...these had a completely different heel construction....they called it an afterthought leg....I worked my fingers to the bone on these and finished on Sunday (9 days).....my submission was somewhere around #420.

Those took most of my time....but I was also able to make another Chemo Hat for Darlene's Niece!  First, I got the yarn From England.  It is called Rosy Green Wool Cheeky Merino....this yarn is super soft to me.  I used this yarn as the pink and white in my 3 color cashmere shawl and loved it....and I wanted to use something super soft for Cynthia, so I ordered this yarn:

I made the hat in the far left colorway, called Rose Garden (the two on the right are called Ruby).

Antonio loved the hat, so I may have to make him one:

I also got some of my DVD swag for being up to 70 Instagram posts.....some minis, needle holders and a key ring holder:

For August, I think I am going to do Curious George.....what bag should I use...1, 2, or 3?

What else have I been up to?  Well, casting on 2 new things.....sorry, I just NEEDED some mindless knitting and with Fins and Briochevron cowl (my two priorities) both being 'thinkers', I needed something else.  So, I started a Boxy Cape for me and a Ranger Cardigan for my Daddy.  The Cardigan is all Darlene's fault (no surprise there) because she is making the same pattern for her hubby, Bruce.

My Boxy Cape:

Daddy's Ranger:

I think that is just about all that I have......Oh, our Knitter's Gotta Knit 2nd podcast episode is up and we have a giveaway from Yarn Café Creations...I felt this yarn and I had to buy some.  I have 3 colors on their way to me (should be delivered today).  Jason Voorhees, Just Speckles Pumpkin, and Peach Blossom.....

Our Giveaway yarn is in the Twinkle sock base, called Mermaid Party:

Lastly, I had a mammogram today in a Mobile Mammogram unit....and they gave me a Rose....it was so sweet!  Be sure to get your girls checked.....Have a great week everyone!
