Not as much as recently......

Hey everyone.  How are you?  I am great.....but, I have not been knitting or crocheting as much as in more recent posts....I guess my brain/body/both just needed a break...LOL!  I hope to change that this week and get in more "stitching"!

First.....my darling Mia (Erich's fiance's Goddaughter) is officially in remission!  Praise the Lord I am so happy.  They also had a "fairy" themed event in Scotland and while she could not participate in actual parade, she was able to go and watch.  Coley's dad got her fairy wings and flower crown.....This girl's smile is just phenomenal!

Last week, I took a day off with Lupe as he was going to do his first "package delivery" route for a job....I was planning on being in car all day and knitting (being there just if he needed me for technology on the app or something), but we got there to get the packages and apparently it was a slow day and all the packages were accounted for.....so.......we went to the Japanese tea garden

Now remember....I was "planning" on being in the car all day....not having pics taken of me....LOL!

Then, we went to play put put golf (Lupe has never played)....he beat me by 3 strokes.

We also went to Rolando's....the best tacos on the planet!

and of course followed the best tacos ever with cookies!

I was asked to test knit a shawl for the NEL advent event so I agreed....this is the yarn I am going to use (I ordered last week)

We ordered a new shower curtain for the guest bathroom....I thought it might look to childish, but I absolutely love it and it matches the Highland cow that Paulette made me a few years ago with diamond painting.....I love it so much!

I got the headphones of my dreams....they were very discounted (the main reason I purchased now instead of waiting).  I have finished 2 books in 4 days....LOL!

Now for stitching.....first, Antonio asked if his blanket was ready.....LOL!

So....I got busy on some more squares....

I do not know if you have heard of new wave knitting, but it is a designer that is IMO a math geek like me and likes to make patterns where you input your gauge (with whatever yarn and needles you want to use) and sizes of your body or head or feet and then the pattern automagically kicks out your exact numbers......She is also hostessing a KAL with her new Staple Sock pattern......I have been wanting to do some hand knit socks for a while, so I thought this is the perfect time.

So here are my socks

and I also worked a little on my sister's cardigan.  I put it backward so you can see the cabling.

Well, that is all I have.....I hope you have a great week!

Is My New System Working?

Hey Everyone....How are you?  I am well!  I am not sure if y'all remember in early June (June 3rd) I mentioned I was going to try a new system.  I did some frogging, I did some casting on, and I did some pulling out of old things.  How is it going?  Well, let's see.

I said I was going to work on an old blanket, a new cardigan for my sister and an old shawl from 2023.

Well, I finished the old blanket....the glamping blanket

I did about 15-17 rows on my sister's cardigan (It does not look much bigger, but the cables have been started.

and I did work on the shawl the first week, but not last week....so no change there.  I also started 2 new hats (not part of the new 'system')...but I did finish the two non authorized cast ons....LOL!

So.....is it working?  I think maybe 50/50...LOL!  I will continue to do my best.

I got a pic from my friend, Star, of her grandson using one of the blankets I recently made them.

Now, speaking of non authorized cast ons.....how about non authorized crochet projects (which are not really cast ons...but chain ons??).  I got a message from Antonio with these two pics attached asking if I could make this.

I told him yes of course, but my squares woukd be smaller (if he only wanted the 3 center colors and then black outline), and I had 16 colors....and were there any he wanted me to leave out.

I also told him I was going to randomly select the colors (no matching, no thinking).  He was like, Okay.  So, I set up all my yarns with this wood board and numbered them 1-16.  The first 2 or so squares I just pulled colors...then I asked Lupe to pick 3 numbers between 1 and 16, then the same of Alexa....then I had the bright idea to have ChatGPT give me 200 sets of 3 random numbers between 1 and 16....so it did.  I have printed out the file it provided (I have to be organized in my randomness....LOL!!!)  and am on my 4th square from the list, but I had about 6 square already...so my 4th square from the list is my 10th square...let's see how it goes.  This is Antonio's Random AI Generated Granny Square Blanket.

Lupe spoiled me with more flowers....I love them!!!

and Paige is at the lakehouse, so I am baby sitting my grand dogs.  For any of you that remember from past years....Jackson does not like Texas (the bit Great Dane)...so Paige takes Jackson to lakehouse (he is way easier than taking Jaz and Texas) and I have Jaz and Texas....Lupe cannot believe how big Texas is....and Texas sure is getting attached to Grandpa Lupe

But do not worry.....Lupe is still spoiling Flower and Purl (I did not get pic of Purl)

and Amira is enjoying laid back Jackson

Well, that is all I have.  I hope y'all have a fabulous week!!

Its Beginning to look a lot like.....Halloween!!!

Hey everyone....How are you?  I think last week I showed you some Halloween Yarn I got and I decided to start a granny square blanket....I used black as the joining color.  I know it does not look like much.....but it was a lot of work for me and I am in love so far!!!

Lupe had a parole class last week and there was a beautiful rainbow

My amazing friend, Paulette, from Canada sent the cutest outfit for Amira

Lupe made me delicious (but proabably not the healthiest) carnitas with beans and a baked potato (I asked for avocado as well).....it was soooooo good!

It is also time for my annual test knit for the lovely Brigit in The Netherlands and her Advent Stole....as you know this is top secret till December, but I can share that I have knit 49 grams so far...I started with 113 grams and am down to 64 so far....I am using a gorgeous yellow that is super hard to photograph!

Well, I think that is all I have.....Have a great week!
