Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi everyone....it is the Monday before Thanksgiving....are you ready?  Are you cooking?  Is someone cooking for you?  Either way, I hope you have a fabulous Thanksgiving!

Well, I have not really been up to much except my dad's ranger....I know you are tired of seeing it....I am a little tired of knitting on it...LOL!  The good news is, I fixed my mistake!

Here it is kinda hanging in the shape of a sweater.

I got my yarn from Carie The Creative Obsession...and I am IN LOVE!  it is the greatest yarn ever!   She even named the colorway Knitphomaniac :)

So now that both Darlene and I have fabulous yarn for our Portage.....we started them!  Yahoo!!

Here is Darlene's:

Oh, and when Paige saw my yarn and the Portage cardigan I am going to make, she of course wants one.....but she wants all grey and picked out a sport weight yarn I had in my stash....I am not sure if this weight yarn will work, but we will see....I may have to make a cardigan size bigger.

I also worked on Paige's socks a little for mindless knitting!  This is Must Stash Yarn in the Beetle Juice color way.

Well, that is really all I have this week.  Antonio tested for his Yellow Belt and got it!  And I got to see Celeste and Cat this past weekend, which is always a treat!  Have a great week everyone!

T Minus 4 Days and Counting.....

Hi everyone.....How have you been?  I've been great.....I have only 4 more days till my friends and I go to my sister's lakehouse for our 5th Annual (I can't believe it has been 5 years) Stitch N Bitch Retreat!  I am so excited, I can hardly wait.  I am sure I am going to take way too many projects to work on.....but I will be knitting all weekend with fabulous friends!  :)  I hope to have lots of pictures for you guys next week!

As for this past week.....well, I finally finished my briochevron cowl....I had about an inch of the lips blank left after I grafted the two ends together.

I started and finished a hat....it is called the Head Hug Chemo Cap and it Hugs your head.  The designer, Laura, reached out to me on Instagram to tell me about it when she saw I was knitting chemo caps for Darlene's niece and the pattern is FABULOUS!  Thank you Laura!

I forgot to get a picture of it blocking, so I had to take pictures of it on the podcast.  LOL!

I did a swatch for Paige's Bulky Sweater.....and then decided to cast on for the back.  This sweater should go fast...but I am probably going to put it away till September.  I want to knit it along with Darlene and she is busy with other projects right now (and so am I).

I worked on my Daddy's Ranger sweater

and my Boxy Cape....

You might get tired of seeing the Ranger and Boxy Cape...both of them are at a point where I just keep doing the same thing for many inches.

I participated in the Dishrag Tag with my online LSSK group and I got my package this past weekend.  Susie T made me two fabulous dishcloths and sent me lots of fun goodies.  Thank you Susie!

I also got a wrist ruler from Starlight Knitting in OR.  I got black, and it is a little hard to see the numbers, but I wear black every day and I really love this bracelet!

I also got some new yarn for a cowl that Paige wants.  Paige found a guy that knits on Instagram and asked for a couple of things that he has knit.  She wants this cowl and this hat.

Here is the yarn for the cowl (I have 3 more skeins coming from ebay tomorrow...this yarn is discontinued).

I have some Madelinetosh Chunky yarn in the Paper colorway coming for the hat.

My last bit of news.....Paige has a contract on a house!

Keep your fingers crossed for her!

That is all I have....Have a great week!

Heatwave!

Hey everyone....how have you been?  Staying cool?  It has been HOT, HOT, HOT here.....super heatwave!  My AC seems like it has been running non stop for days.  My house is old and not very well insulated, so I should really fix that. This past Saturday was supposed to be our hottest day of the year (according to the news).  When I went out, it was 108!

So staying inside to knit was definitely on the calendar.  I really only worked on 2 things this week......My dad's ranger and my Briochevron Cowl.

Here is the Ranger:

Here is the Cowl.....I worked on this more than anything else.....I am sooooo close to being done!

There is a progress keeper in this last photo towards the bottom so you can see how much I did.

I am hoping to finish that super small lip amount today....a little at lunch today and a little tonight and I should be FINISHED!

I got my yarn from Yarn Café Creations....Thank you Christy!

I got the Red Cereza Malabrigo Rios from Wool Warehouse (since I used my yarn for my dad's Ranger):

I also got a Simone Cardigan Kit from We Are Knitters.....these kits are very expensive, however I have to say the quality of what I have seen so far is fabulous!  The box was sturdy, each kit came in its own sturdy bag nicely arranged.  The pattern is in a small envelope and so far there is a small part of the pattern (the materials section) that appears wrong....that can be a little frustrating when you are purchasing such and expensive kit....but oh well.  They really kind of get you because their patterns are not available for purchase unless you buy the kit.  Darlene's oldest granddaughter, Kagan, wants a bulky sweater and she picked this one....so of course I have to make it with her (DUH!) and I am making one for Paige.

I started a new sweater for me...but screwed up and had to frog the whole thing....Which is giving me the sign that it was not meant to be and I already have too many things on the needles!!  But I really want to make this.....maybe after the Big 4!

I won an Instagram Contest from Space Cadet and got a gift certificate....with the gift certificate I got this skein of yarn....it is called Oxblood, but it is more pinkish than I expected:

The podcast got some yarn from Lavender Mountain Yarns for a giveaway...we get to keep one skein and give one skein away...this yarn feel soooooo good!  Thank you Lynda!

Remember my rose I got last week for my Mammogram...well it bloomed beautifully!

That is all I have folks.....Have a great week!

I must really love a few people:
