Happy Birthday Darlene!

I want to wish my Best Friend the Happiest of Birthdays today!  I do not know what I would do without this amazing woman in my life!

I really only knitted on 2 things this week....my weekender (got it to 4") and a hat for Paige......

(the girls got me cookies from Panera for my return to work....YUMMY!

Darlene talked me into doing the WHNYearOfHatsKAL2019 with her.....we will see how far I get (it is all Darlene's fault!)

Paige is going to Atlanta in about a week (a Barber thing with Bizzle) so I made her the hat above.  I wanted to make Bizzle one too, so I started on a pink and grey mohair one.....

I wasn't in love with the result so I asked Paige what Bizz would want and Paige told me to ask Bizz....so I sent some pictures of yarn to Bizz and she picked this Undead Yarn with the same light grey mohair and a grey pompom....

So I frogged the pink and grey.....and started the new one.

I also got Paige to model my finished cardigan:

Lastly.....I got a new Knitting Chair Lamp....it is all Darlene's Fault (again)...this is the one Bruce got her for Christmas and I had to get one just like it.....I do LOVE it!!

I was a little bummed with the Football games this last weekend....I was going for Brees and Mahomes...but we got Goff and Brady (again)....so while I am not really all that excited about the Superbowl in less than 2 weeks....I quickly became a Rams fan and will mostly be watching the commercials.  Have a great week everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Can you believe we are only 2 days away from Thanksgiving?  Where has the time gone?

I am thankful for a lot of things, but I want to say a special thanks to my Max that I had to put down last week...I miss you so much Maxxy!  Thanks for being my best boy even though I only had you for 4 1/2 months.  I love you!!

I got some new yarn to make a houndstooth blanket....not sure when, but it is on my huge growing list!

I finished the hat I showed you last week and I really love the mohair addition....so I ordered more mohair to make hats for Paige:

I also got some pom poms to hopefully make more hats.

One of my cousins got my dad and all his TX siblings together for family portraits....they came out really great!

Thanks to my enabling friend, Rosanna, I ordered the Jimmy Beans Wool Craftvent...I cannot wait till it gets here and I can start.

I got a great package from my friend Brigit in The Netherlands.....some yarn for Darlene to make herself a sweater and some label for her....and Brigit sent me the most beautiful cards, chocolate and stroopwafels....YUM!!!!!

The only other thing I worked on was my rainbow virus shawl.  I am completely out of orange now....but still have a long way to go....I am not even 1/2 way done...but I do enjoy working on it!

Ups and Downs.......

How has your week been?  Mine has been filled with Ups and Downs.....I visited Max several times during the week and  I think it was Tuesday or Wednesday that I really saw him take a turn for the better.....it was obvious to me that he was in less pain.....

However, my excitement was short lived....after having him home for 3 days I realized that this was no life for Max.  He still woke up in pain in the middle of the night and he had no control over his bladder and bowels.  I was ready to get a wheelchair, but a life in a diaper with no control and still in pain is not a good/healthy life....so I had to put him down.....I am a sick mess over it, but I know I tried my best and it was the right decision.......He is already missed so much and not only by me....Love you Max!

So....on to the knitting.....I finished a hat for Paige that I was certain was going to be too small, but she likes it.  I think I will order more of this yarn and make her the same hat but a bit looser.

I also started (and almost finished) another hat....this one is with DK and mohair held together....I am really liking the way it is turning out....I tried to finish last night, but I have about 14 more rows of decreases...I should have a finished hat to show you next week....the yarn is new too (I just got it)...it is Farmer's Daughter Yarn....and I am really enjoying it!

I also worked on the test cardigan....I am about to start some decreases for shaping:

I got my Biscotte DK Pure yarn for my 2nd vortex cardigan...this one is going to have a brioche ribbing border with 2 colors....I cannot wait to start!

Paige would love one of these for Jaz....anyone know where I can find the pattern?  or is if it is even knit or crochet?  Any help is appreciated

I broke down an used my new Christmas Mug from Darlene...I wanted to wait till Dec 1 to use with advent calendar, but oh well....I love the mug.....I have waited on using the tea though....just 18 more days and I am can use Dec 1 tea :)

Antonio made a tie dye shirt with Chris....he loves it!
