Go Spurs and Thank you to our service men and women!

Hey everyone....I hope you had a great Memorial Day and How About Them Spurs!!!!  I am so thankful to our service men and women and especially those that died while serving.  Thank you!

My dad went to Ft Sam Cemetary and and my mom's columbarium stone was up

I have been a bit lazy this weekend and today will be no different.....it will be a Harry Potter and Knitting kind of day!

First, I started a new test knit....my nails match my needles.

Here is chart 1 finished....the color of yarn is a bit blown out, but it is light gray

I also ordered some yarn to add embelishments to lace knitting.....my friend, Ineta, showed me this and I ordered some.

She also told me about this mohair with cotton, but I have not ordered yet....I want to

This past weekend was Peyton's graduation ceremony....I love this pic!

Antonio had golf lessons and gave a couple of lessons to his sister

I had dinner at Paige's this past Friday and Paige modeled her sweater for me (inside out and regular way).

I finished the body of the Ankers sweater....just 2 sleeves and I am done

I jumped on the AI bandwagon and had this image done

and lastly, I met a friend of my son's from Austria who traveled all the way here to Texas.  She is so sweet.  She broght me some delicious chocolate too!

Well, that is all I have.....I hope you have a great week!

Still Celebrating Into March!

Hey everyone....can you believe it is already March?  Lupe has been continuing to spoil me for my Birthday.   He ordered me a new yarn winder (the one I got for Christmas crapped out):

I worked on my test knit

and I decided I was going to join Andrea Mowry's March 2 May KAL

I'm going to make Briochealicious with these colors:

It started this past Sunday and I barely got the first garter section done.  I am on row 1 of the first brioche section.

I also saw a reallyb cool blanket on FB......so Lupe bought me the yarn

Then I started it

but I was not "in love" and though the white was overpowering the color....so I did a swatch to switch the colors:

I like it this way better.  Here is a top to bottom comparison...but I have frogged and will restart with the color in place of white (the one on top in pic below).

Lupe took me to get my pearls I had dropped off earlier in February and they are gorgeous

On my actual birthday I got lots of well wishes....two big highlights are messages from my tante from Germany and my son.

Paige sent me a beautiful pic of Amira

and Kody sent me a pic of her on a play date with her cousin

I got a free cookie from Crumbl

I curled my hair

and I wore my daisy lenses

and got my nails and toes done....this is my 2nd iced coffee because the first completely spilled.

Lupe made the most delicious (and pricey) steaks

I ordered some yarn to make a blanket for Lupe's greak newphew, but when it got here....it was more pink than its colorway "crimson"

So Lupe and I drove to 4 different Michael's locations to find "red" yarn

Lupe organized getting his siblings together to get a picture....they all made it but 2 (1 brother and 1 sister)......He had such a great time, and he was able to drive them all in his new truck.

Lastly....I also knit on my pullover sweater

I leave you with pics of my beautiful babies (I promise I love purl just as much, she just sleeps under blankets so I never get great pics of her)!

Have a great week!
