It's Almost August!

Hey everyone....can you believe tomorrow is the first day of August?  I can't.

I know I just blogged a post with a billion pics this past Wednesday, but I wanted to try to get back to my every Monday (or Tuesday) post....so I won't have a ton, but I do have some stuff.

First....Toni Lipsy (the queen of crochet in my eye) did a yarn review recently (she does tons of these) and gave a yarn a 10 out of 10 hooks....I am not sure she has every done that!  So what did I do?  I bought some....the only downside of this yarn (in my opinion) is it does not come in a billion colors.

Here is what I got:

I also have another family member that is going to have a baby....so I already started a new baby blanket with this blue variegated yarn and I am loving it so far.

I finished my super long socks with the yarn I got from Paige for Christmas.  These socks take almost the entire 50 gram skein each because I wanted to use ALL the yarn and get all the colors in.

I also finished my first pair of cranked socks (I finished in April but needed to kitchner 2nd sock).  They have 2 different tensions and are 2 different sizes...but they are done.

Look at the cutest bag my friend, Elizabeth made....I am currently begging her to make one with Flower....she will have these available soon on Etsy, Cozy Sky Co

Paige is in Vegas....she took Kody for a surprise bday present.....I love these two!

Can you believe it has been 14 years since I started SNB on meetup.com?  The group is now on FB, but wow.....14 years.

I started a Mae for Syla....Darlene gave me this yarn over 2 years ago and I finally started the sweater

I started a sunshine coast for myself......there are lots of M1L and M1R and SSK with K2TOG.....I was getting confused so I bought these cute stitch markers (with lobster claw) to help me.

Well, that is all I have.....I hope yall have a fabulous week!

I'm Late......so sorry!

I'm so late posting...so sorry.  But that means I had a great long weekend.  I took off Friday and Tuesday...for a 5 day weekend!  What did I do?

Well, Jaime and I went to Bandera with the RV

I decided to start a new blanket for Grace..these are her school colors, but I think I am going to frog it.  The pattern is Cactus Garden and I am afraid the patterning will make this blanket look, like a spiderman blanket because it will looks like webs or something...so I will hunt down a different pattern.

Since Jaime towed the Jeep, he took me to the two yarn stores in town.....both were very nice and pleasant....I bought some stitch markers from Lavendar and Sage...she was so sweet, and in the bag she bagged my stitch markers in, was a card with a stitch marker and two buttons.....soooo nice of her!

While I was in Bandera, my DIL was in the 2019 Alamo Showdown classic.  She was in the amateur division for bikini, figure, athletic, physique & Bodybuilding (I think).  She won 2nd place in Novice and 4th place in Open (I honestly have no clue what that means).....I am so proud of her!

When I got home.....I had a new dog in my house.  I told you how Kayta comes to visit...well, now I had a new puppy in my house.  I was on the phone with my mom and she heard the little puppy bark and she said "who is that" and I said, "oh, there was a puppy in my house when I got home." and she laughed so hard.....OMG...only I can come home to a new dog in my house.  It left a few hours later....probably a neighbors dog that came thru a hole in the fence.

Antonio and I went to Darlene's house to hang out on Monday....Here is Antonio playing with Betty (he made a face right before I snapped the pic).

While I am talking about dogs....Here is a pic of Bizz's two great danes...they are super cute!

Antonio is back in Soccer...I took him to practice last night....dang this boy has some flashy gear

Now for the knitting......I worked mostly on a secret test knit I cannot show....but I did block my torbellino and try it on....it is a little wide at the neck...

I ordered some yarn to make a Good Vibes Throw......

I also ordered some yarn to crochet a blanket for my new personal trainer's to be born in December baby.  I went to Paige's gym yesterday and signed up....Yes, I know I have access to a free gym at work, but I do not know what I am doing....so I need his help.  His name is Nathan and he owns Move.Fit.Live and he and his wife are expecting their first child (a girl to be named Sophia) in December.

I am going to use the Red Heart Amore yarn in light pink, white and hot pink.  I do not have the yarn yet....but here are the colors.

So as you can see I am continuing with my exercising and working out....I hope I see some results soon.....that is all I have for the week....and again, sorry I was late!

Have a great week!

Hot or Cold? Make up your mind!

Talk about jumping from Hot to Cold......I went from Heater, to AC back to Heater this last week.  The weather really does not know what it wants to do with itself.

The hardest part is dressing for it.....46 degrees in the morning with an afternoon of 82.....GRRRR!

Oh well, I mostly stayed in and knitted and crocheted so I guess I should not complain too much....but it is hard to dress for work.

So what did I do?  Well, on Monday Jaime took me out to eat to Pluckers.  It all started with a FB post from Darlene's daughter, Shyla, talking about some "Tater Cakes" that sounded amazing....Tater Tots squished into a cupcake pan filled with cheese, bacon and chives, with a side of sour cream....aka Heaven....so I told Jaime that I wanted to check it out some time and he said "Let's go today".....Yahooooo!!!

Let me tell you, those Tater Cakes were AM-AAAAAA-ZING!  I love them.  The wings were good too, but I will be going back for the tater cakes!

I finished the Crochet Blanket for Jaime's Newphew's Wife....I know I told ya'll the baby was born last week...but now the blanket is finally finished...I had about 20 more rows to do.....

During lunch, work on my weekender with Darlene and Heather (she is new to the knitting lunch break and is also making weekender).

I had a great mail week.....remember that yellow stole I made for Darlene....well, I won a prize from that KAL.....some great stitch markers!

I also got my prize from a HiyaHiya KAL.....some new HiyaHiya Flyers to knit on socks and a pair of cotton socks with sheep on them...Thank you Qianer!

Then I got some Alpaca Pom Poms from Nodrog Fars....they are big and fluffy...here is a picture of them next to my fur pompoms....

This past weekend I worked on Graces sweater (I also had a FB memory pop up that I finished Paige's 2 years ago).

and my Football Hat....I am really missing Football, so working on this hat helped a little...the colors are for the Spurs for Paige!

I am not really a color work fan....but I'm trying.

I ordered some yarn to make a hat for Darlene's son.....Brinley (the granddaughter that does motorcycle riding) has colors of Hot Pink and Kawasaki Green......so I am making a hat with those colors.  Oh, and she also got a sponsor from CA.....isn't that exciting!  I am so happy for them!

Lastly, my mom had her treatments this past week and my sister took her....so any prayers you have to offer up are appreciated....she is doing well, but could always do better.  :)

Have a great week!
