Happy Anniversary to me and Lupe!

Hey everyone....I hope yall are doing well.  If you have been following me for a while you know I have had a new guy in my life for several years and maybe realized that recently he moved in with me (last year).  Well it was our anniversary this past weekend.....He took me out to eat at Red Lobster.  I had Bairdi crab and he had a combination platter with Snow Crab, Lobster and Shrimp....it was delicious!  Needless to say, I have gained a bit of weight since he moved in as he does all the cooking....but I am super happy (just wish I could be happy and thin....LOL!).

He also got me a gorgous James Avery necklace that has an open daisy (my favorite flower) on it!  I love it!!

His birthday is coming up in August and I asked what he wanted and he wants to go on a hike somewhere nearby....so I made reservations at Los Maples State National Park, and we ordered him hiking shoes, and we ordered both of us backpacks that have a water bladder to drink out of as we hike.  I did not want to use them for the first time when we hike, so yesterday we went on a 4 mile walk off paths here in the city.....the backpacks worked great....and we saw a turtle (we saw two, but one jumped right before this pic).

Lupe also made us 2 briskets this past week....he has been trying to figure out the best way to cook em and I am all too happy to be the taste tester (remember that weight I have gained.....LOL!!)

We had a birthday party to go to for Lupe's great nephew.  He slept with the card from us....so cute!

Okay.....I guess I should get on to the knitting....LOL!

I finished some socks (cranked but hand knit toes, heels and cuffs) for my friend Brigit in the Netherlands

Speaking of Brigit, she has decided she is going to design another Advent Stole this year so I got this yarn with these beads....they should be delivered today

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I was asked to test knit and advent shawl for NEL....well, the yarm came in and I have completed clue 1

Lupe asked me to make a set of hats for his friend, James and James' partner....so I finished one...one more still to go

I worked on squares for Antonio's blanket but really need to get more done!

I also worked on my staple socks

and my sister's cardigan which needs to be done in a week!  Yikes

We have the lakehouse retreat this coming weekend.  Darlene will pick me up Thursday after work.....I am so excited!

I leave yall with a fabulous pic of Flower and I hope you have a great week!

Happy Happy Happy Knitting!

Almost Spring!

Hey everyone....it is almost Spring....just 3 more weeks!

I hope yall have had a great couple of weeks....I had a Birthday...the Big 50...YIKES!

Darlene got me the most amazing yarn....it is the yarn to make the Satellite shawl by Andrea Mowry....this yarn is like knitting with a hand spun cloud!  Thank you Darlene!

I also got the new Lykke needles in Copper that are 5"

Paige and Kody had a great Valentine's Day and Bizz, Sam and Paige all went to the Rodeo....I love these people!

I was headed to the gym last Suday and saw this in front of my car....That morning, Kody took Antonio to a car show and when he came back to my house later that day he said, "Grandma, guess who I saw at the Car Show?........THE DOG!"  so clearly this guy and his amazing companion were in town for the car show!

I had a fabulous birthday dinner with my family but failed to snap a single picture....my daddy got us 5 lbs of King Crab legs, and steak, along with potatoes and asparagus.....However, I do have a picture of the gorgeous flowers Kody and Paige got me (they also got me some running shoes but they have not been delivered yet).

My parents got me some leggings and shirts and my sister and brother in law got me some gorgeous James Avery earrings.

Then yesterday, my nephew, Sean, was Confirmed to Catholicism and after the ceremony we all went to a fabulous lunch.....this time at the end I said, "Hey, we need a picture!"

I made some socks for Paige...these tubes were cranked by Elizabeth...I really need to get to cranking on my own machine!

I finished the February portion of my monthly blanket

and lastly I got my windows installed....I am not putting my blinds back up (you can see them in the background outside on the table), but instead I am putting in curtains....so this makes me realize I really need to finish painting the walls that I have ignored for months!

That is all I've got...Have a great week everyone and Happy Happy Happy Knitting!
