Luck of the Irish

Hey everyone.....how are you?  I am doing okay.....I am hoping to have some luck of the Irish (Its St Paddy's Day in a few days) when it comes to my life in general....LOL!  I've been struggling with finding balance lately.....balalnce between work, knitting, gym, and just my general mental health.  I get new pellet insertion in 2 days so maybe that is what I need, but I guess we will see.

On the knitting front....I realized that last week I uploaded two of the same photos...so here is the 2nd one I meant to upload to show the difference in the icord cast ons...it will not be hard to guess which one I went with....LOL!

So I am certain that some of my lack of balance in the knitting department is that I have just bitten off more than I can chew...but I always do that....so here we go.

Monthly blankets..I still have about 6 triangles to make for this colorway

Here is March Color
and for this colorway...I still have a ways to go
and here is March color

Then I worked on the sweater for the Purled in Texas MAL/KAL.....I am pretty close to dividing for sleeves and then it will look more like a 'sweater'.

I bought some yarn to make my sister some socks

and I ordered more of the Wolltraum yarn to make some more crocheted shawls...inserting pics of previously finished shawls and new yarn on its way.

That is all I got....Have a great week!

Feeling Better!

Well, I am feeling much better!  Apparently I was feeling worse than I thought last week because I just realized that I never published last weeks blog post......GRRRRRRR....if you are interested, I finally posted it here.

I still have a few days of antibiotics and I cannot wait to finish them....they make my mouth taste like metal...LOL!

So what have I been up to?  Well, I finished the Augusta Shawl!

And then worked on my friend's Parallel Waves Shawl....I got like 25 more rows done (from the stitch marker in the picture all the way up)....I still need about 50 more rows to finish.

Then Paige told me that Bizzle (her best friend) is about to have a nephew (Bizzle's brother's wife is due) and the baby shower is Sunday at noon (she told me this on Saturday).....

I sent her pics of blue yarn

She picked the dark one......Then Jaime and I went to have nachos and Margaritas :)

Yup, in the midst of knitting emergency, we had date night.

So on Sunday I cast on the hat for Paige and finished in a few hours....and she thinks I am amazing :)

I was also very proud of Paige....she went to give free back to school hair cuts this past weekend.

The only other thing I knit on this week was my hitofude....I am still not caught up because I started over a week later...but I am still trying to catch up.  LOL!

Lastly, I got a new t-shirt that I love!  It is a little snug (I need to loose weight) so I ordered a man's size too in red, but it has not come in yet.

That is all I have.......Have a great week!

She is back!

Darlene is back from her vacation and I could not be more thrilled!   Plus, we leave to the Lake House for our knitting retreat this coming Friday!  I cannot wait!  I am sooooooo excited!

I'm gonna start with a stash enhancement I am pretty excited about.....I got some mitt blockers!  They came from the Ukraine so they took a while...but I love them.  the thumb is removable.  I wish I had taken a picture of them without the mitts in them.....they are very nice!

So.....what did I work on?  Well, I got my temperature blanket caught up to June 30th.......so here is 1/2 the year!

And, since I was already crocheting, I really wanted to get to a color change in my Augusta Shawl....and I got to TWO color changes (the second one is harder to see)!

I worked a little on the lace stole.....

and then guess what time it is?

Yup...year 5 for me with Tour de Sock and all with Team Roasted....some years I was just a cheerleader, but I do enjoy being on the team!

I am using an old skein of yarn from Maryland Sheep and Wool show in 2014...the pattern is called Plan A:

That is all I have in the knitting world.....in my other world......one of my co workers saw a HUGE bug on one of the windows at work....I have no clue what this but is...but looked like it was at least 2" long!

Then Jaime and I went out to eat for nachos and Margaritas.....the margaritas were pretty strong and yummy!

Well, that is all I have for this past week......I should have more knitting next week since we have the Lake House Knitting Retreat coming in just 4 more days!  Yahoo!

Have a great week everyone!

All Alone for 2 weeks

Hi everyone!  How has your week been?  Mine was fine till today....it is my first workday without Darlene.....Yup, she is on her 2 week vacation with her husband....they are riding their motorcycles to Canada this year......but she has been texting me daily and I can track where she is via her iPhone.....so I guess I will survive....but I miss her!

On to my knitting/crocheting.....

This past week I finished Mom's socks:

And I got a little bit done on Paige's socks (Darlene also knitted a little on them on the podcast):

I also worked on my Augusta Shawl....

And then spent all day Sunday trying to catch up my Temperature blanket....I made it to the 22nd....so 10 days worth took me pretty much all day....LOL!

Now, I really shouldn't work on both of these crocheting projects in the same weekend.....I found myself doing about a row and a half of double crochets on the blanket when I should have been doing half double crochets.....but I am not ripping back

The new dogs are doing fine.....and Max got to meet Jaz.....they played a little, but I am not sure Max was impressed.....Jaz is just so big she does not know her strength.

I got their new collars with their names on it.....I did not get a picture of Max's, but here is Purl's....its a little hard to see in the picture, but you can see it much better in person in case any of my babies get lost.

This next picture is all of them on my lap taken Saturday morning (before their new collars came in).

Jaz also sat on my lap and got some loving, but it was getting crowded so she went the floor...but not till she deposited tons of hair on me...LOL!

My last thing of the week is that Darlene and I started a new project......and NO, we did not buy yarn for it (but I was ready to).  Darlene had enough yarn for the both of us.  We are making a sweater called Five by Nicola Susen .  We are each making it with 2 skeins of Wollmeise LaceGarn.  I am doing Red (Little red riding hood) and Darlene is doing a beautiful turquoise.

That is all I have.....Have a great week everyone!
