When you need the rain, but not that much.....

Hello everyone....well, I think SA has been in the news with all the flooding we have had.....now the storm has moved on to West Virginia and other areas north east of us.  I know we needed the rain (Media lake is at 2%), but not 4-5 inches in an hour.....I think the final count was 13 deaths, which is terrible.  Thankfully I am okay and everyone I know is OK, but there is damage that will take months to fix, so we need to patient.

I do have one big scardey dog that does not like storms.  Poor guy paced all night till Lupe told him he could get in the bed with us....then he sleeps better.  I have never had a dog that has as much anxiety as Jackson, but I am okay with it as he is the goodest boy in the world!  Here he is (a little ashamed) the next morning.

I hope everyone had a fabulous Father's Day yesterday!  We had a little bbq at our place and let me tell you...it was HOT...till the rain came....LOL!

Here are some pics.

I tell ya, I really do not get out much or do much because after yesterday and all the activity, my body is killing me today.  I'm wondering if I have some sort of deficiency.....I know I am 53, but I feel like my body is reacting as if I was 93!

Oh well......I will say, since Lupe and I spent most of Saturday getting the house ready for the BBQ and then Sunday finalizing things and of course entertaining.....it made for very little knitting time.   I was able to work on this blanket a little (I think I got at least 8 inches on it).

I also worked on the hat I started for Lupe

Then.....remember that yarn I ordered?  Well, it came in

and I started a hat

Paige and Family had a wedding to go to on Saturday and she sent me this pic....I love it!

Well, that is all I have....Have a great week everyone!!

It's the Shoes!!!

Hey everyone!  I hope you all are well!  I am hanging in there as usual!  This past weekend, Tone wanted me to take him to the mall to get a Father's Day Present for Kody.  So I picked him up from Paige's shop, we had Sushi Zushi (not the greatest sushi, but not terrible I guess, then hit the mall.  We got a hat for Kody, and Tone had it engraved with "I Love You Dad".  I thought that was so sweet!  Then we stopped at a Foot Locker and Tone really wanted a certain pair of shoes, they are Crocs....

I got them for him and then we swung back by Paige's shop before I took him to a friends house.  I made him take and embarassing picture with his Grandma......and I swear, he is NOT a foot taller than me....It's the SHOES!!!  That is my story and I am sticking to it!  LOL!!!!

I got my nails done last week and I went with a totally outside of my wheelhouse color....and I LOVE THEM!  I even made my watch color match my nails (and my Pj's for the day)!

I love them so much, I told Lupe, "I need to knit with this color so my nails can match my yarn!"  Then I ordered this yarn!  Madeline Tosh Vintage in the Edison Bulb colorway!

As far as other knitting and trying to do better with my WIPS.....Last week I said I would pull out an old shawl and an old blanket....so I did.  The shawl is from 2023, and the blanket is also from 2023.  This blanket will be for Sean and Leilani.  I got a nice chunk done on both.

I also made progress on my sister's Cardigan, Ledburg

Then, not in line with my goals (LOL), I started a hat for Lupe.  We were shopping one day a couple of months ago and he bought this yarn and asked me to make a hat with it.  So I have had the yarn for a while and finally decided to cast on.  This is the Chunky Dean Street Hat.

I got a surprise package from my Fiber Fairy!  These smell so good.  I have already used them several times!

Lupe continues to spoil me.....more flowers

And, Lupe washed the dogs yesterday.  We keep them inside a few hours after washing till they dry....this is Flower as soon as she is dry and allowed to go outside.....LOL!  She loves that dirt!

Well, that is all I have.  I hope yall have a fabulous week!

It's already June?

Hey everyone.....how can it already be June?  I am not sure either.

I am going to start this post with another boquet of gorgeous flowers Lupe got me....he really does spoil me!  There were taken on different days so you can see ow much they opened up.

Paige and Kody must have had plans this past Saturday night because Bizz posted this adorable picture

I commented on it and she sent me the aftermath

This girl is going to be independent!

Okay, now for knitting.  I purchased the new knit nation magazine to see if I would like it.  I have to give lots of credit to the creator and editors and all imvloved in this magazine.  It is a great concept and for 24 pages, it is packed with lots of fun, information and even  patterns.  However, I forgot how bulky a newspaper can be, and even if I did fall in love with one of the patterns, I do not see me knitting from this large newspaper.  I would probably take pics and then print them to make them more managable.  This is probably not what this company had in minde when creating this newspaper.  All in all, it is pretty much just not for me.  The shipping also takes forever and I fear I am additcted to Amazon's "We will have it there between 5 and 10 pm tonight" services.....LOL!

As far as actual knitting.....I finised the teement shawl.  I finished in one month, but needed an extra day for blocking!

I also finished the 2nd blanket for my friend, Star's son, Thomas.

These two will go in the mail today!

I also decided I need to clean out some wips.....yup, I know I say this all the time.  I am hoping this year is my year.....LOL!

I frogged 2 items, and counted my wips.  One just needs to be blocked, so going in water today.  I have 21 wips (hey, that is prett good considering I think I had 40 at one time).  12 of those are blankets.....clearly, I love blankets but they take me FOREVER to finish.  So, I am pulling out one blanket wip, one shawl wip, and starting a new cast on for my sister.  We will be going to lakehouse for retreat the weekend before her 55th birthday, so I want to make her the Ledburg cardigan.  I made myself one in 2021.

So.....here is to hoping my new system is going to work....LOL!

Lastly, a picture of my baby girl...I love when she smiles while she sleeps!

Have a great week everyone.
