And it is STILL raining.....grrrrrr!

Hey everyone!  I hope you have had a dry week!  My week has been wet, wet, wet!  It is still raining here and my backyard can't take anymore......not to mention that I cant mow and the grass is growing too tall!  Okay, whiny rant over......

I did go to the lakehouse this past weekend (yes, it rained there too) along with Jaime, his friend Nick and Nick's girlfriend, Star.  We had a great relaxing time!

Of course I had to lure Nick there with Ding Dongs....LOL!

I got a pedicure before we left and boy did I need it!

Paige sent me an Instagram post with someone wearing a hat she likes

I could not find the exact pattern, but one of my LSSK sistah's found one that Paige is happy with...I'm hoping to start (and maybe finish) this week:

When I was in the Miss Babs Knitting Tour, in Sept 2016, I got a gorgeous skein of Keira in the Silk Road colorway (about midway down in this linked post).  I liked it so much, I ordered a 2nd skein (about midway down in this linked post).....then last week I bought a skein from someone's destash hoping I could put them together for a sweater...these are all the same color, all dyed at same time (Sept 2016) for Miss Babs Knitting tour, but they are so different.  I hope to maybe fade them in a sweater.

Lastly....I only worked on two things.....some socks I started for a test knit and my sweater!

Well, that is all I have......Jaime is healing well!  Thanks for all the well wishes!

Have a great week everyone!

Welcome Labor Day!

Hi everyone......I am welcoming Labor Day with open arms!!!  While I know many are out there laboring to rebuild their homes/lives after Hurricane Harvey, I am truly thankful for all the blessings I have and am very thankful for the long weekend.

What have I been up to?  I have a few stash enhancement this week....my free skein of yarn from DVD for completing 6 months.

Darlene placed a knit picks order for more Biggo to make her niece more Decemberist shawls....along with that order,I got some cotton yarn to make Paige some kitchen items for her new house....she wanted greys....

Here is the pink yarn for the next Decemberist I will make:

Darlene got a new sheep mug from David's tea....so of course I had to copy her.....Igot two...This one changes colors when there is hot water in the mug.  It starts out with black sheep

When there is hot water in it, the sheep turn yellow and white.

Here is the other mug (this is the one Darlene got too)...it does not change colors....the sheep are always this color....and I love them both!!

Here are the decemberists we already finished....I helped Darlene finish up the red one.....Darlene blocked them:

I finished the hat for Jaime.....I think it is a little too big so I am thinking of making another one and doing the decreases sooner.

Then there was the new MKAL.....What the Fade?!

I had a lady on ravelry help me with my order...

Thursday at lunch...Darlene and I started.....Now hold on to your britches...we got a whole lot accomplished at lunch:

LOL!  Hey, it's a start!

I had a few more starts during the weekend.  I had a goof, tried to tink, it was a mess, so I started again.  I got pretty far...then counted my stitches and realized I forgot a left side increase quite a few rows back....

so, I had to frog....

and restarted....who knew this thing would get started 3 times (I hope this is the last time)!

Oh, and I got my Miss Babs September Tour Package....we are going to Italy.  I got the cool colors, but prefer the warm ones (I saw pictures of other tour memeber's packages) so I have ordered the warm package...it should be here this week.  The warm is wine and tan colors.  I am actually thinking of putting wine and this grey together to be different!

A little Hurricane Harvey Update...My thoughts and prayers go out to all affected by Harvey.   I donated along with some friends to the local animal care services for items they were in desperate need of....I also bought yarn from LoloDidIt where her proceeds go to the Red Cross Hurricane Harvey Fund....she sent an email saying she raised $26,000....Yahoo!

My sister's place had a little damage....but all in all, we know how blessed we are to not have had it any worse.

Have a great week everyone......

Kindergarten and Hurricane Harvey

I everyone.....how was your last week?  Mine was fine...Hurricane Harvey rolled in and dumped some rain and blew things around.....My area was hardly affected (just a little rain and some strong wind), but I know that many other areas have been hit hard.  Houston is still flooding....and Darlene's son, Casey, is a Houston Firefighter (Houston probably has the most flooding...and I think the city has to open two damns/reservoirs) and he has been working since the storm started and is on a boat doing rescues with no end in sight (I know he must be exhausted)……so we are praying for all the first responders and all affected by the Hurricane!

My sister does have a house in Port Aransas...and thankfully it is still standing.  My brother in law will go this week to assess any damage!

Staying in almost all weekend made for lots of knitting time.

I finished my aunt's slippers/socks....yeah!  I hope she loves them!  I got My BIG 4 done!  Yeah!!!

During the week I made a shawl for Darlene's niece, Cynthia.  Darlene sent a 'care package' to Cynthia and one of the items she sent her was the Decemberist Darlene made back in April.....well, Cynthia loved it.....she loved it so much that she said that she wants one in every color....I already had the same yarn in black and red....and Darlene has ordered pink and white yarn.  I have made a black one and Darlene is making her a red one.....we will also make two more once the pink and white yarn get here.  Oh, and the one Darlene already sent Cynthia looks fabulous on her!

Here is the black one I made...I do not have a picture of it blocked because I was my regular lazy self and sent it home with Darlene for her to block.....LOL!

I also made a hat for Paige....she asked for this hat a while ago and I got the yarn and it was time to make it.....I really like the pattern....it was a quick knit!

I started a couple of things too...I guess I felt the need to start stuff as I finished stuff...LOL!  I started the cowl for Paige:

and a hat for Jaime.....I told Jaime I would have a hat done for him before he goes on his annual fall motorcycle ride with the guys....so I better get this done!

I wound all my yarn for the What The Fade MKAL that starts this coming Thursday (Paige's Birthday).....so I am ready!

I have a couple of stash enhancements.....I got a new purse.....black leather.  Darlene got one like this (hers is brown) and I had to get one.....I love it!

Paige also got me some new PJ's.  My friend, Melissa, sent me a picture of a PJ top she was getting, and I told Paige about it and Paige got me one...she said it was the last one in my size :)

And for the biggest news....Today is Antonio's First Day of Kindergarten.....I can't believe it (I took a picture of my kids in front of this tree every first day of school they had....so the tree is special)!

I'm pretty sure his favorite subject will be art....this is what he drew over the weekend:

My cousin's daughter-in-law got a new puppy and I just had to share this picture.

That is all I have......Have a great week everyone!
