Happy Birthday Darlene!

Hey everyone!  How are you?  Today is Darlene's birthday and I am going to be late with her present...more on her present later....but here is why I will be late

 Yup, another busted (well, leaking) pipe....this is the 3rd time this pipe has leaked in the last 4 years.  It seems the cold weather causes pressure on the pipe or the tree roots....I am honestly not sure which is the bigger culprit.

We got snow....and while it was below freezing, I had a humming bird come to my feeder.  I was SHOCKED!

Since my last post, I have pretty much done nothing but work on Darlene's birthday present.  So much that my hands were hurting from all the knitting, so I took a short break to crochet 2 dishcloths that look like they have a knit stitch row in them.

Crumbl had their tres leches back this week, but not just regular tres leches, but COOKIE BUTTER tres leches....so this happened

I got that new yarn I ordered from Hobbii.  This will (one day) be a blanket/throw in my living room.

My aunt Natasha was in town from Washington State, so we had a great dinner at my sister's house

Okay.....now for Darlene's present.  The knitting is done, but with lack of water (from leaking pipe), I could not block it.....but now it is blocking and I will give it to her tomorrow!!

Wedding of the Century!!!

 Hey everyone!  How are you?  I am well.  I am sorry I did not post last week.  It was a crazy week.

Approx the day after my last post, I looked at the weather forecast for January 11th (date of my newphew's wedding).....and it said it was going to be COLD!  So, being the genius that I am, I decided to knit a sweater in 8 days.  After I started I knew I would run out of yarn, so the sweetest lady I found on ravelry agreed to overnight me some of the same yarn she had in her for sale or trade section....and I did it!

I ended up being a little too hot, but my mom was freezing so I gave her the sweater (I know she looks mad, but I promise she is not, I just shot the pic at the wrong time.

That is pretty much the only thing I have knit on since the last post....so now I need to jump back on darlene's sweater and the unicorn wrap I am making.

Other than that, I have been of course trying to eat healthier with some food prep

I got some super cute ziplock bags with dogs on them (quart size, now I am looking for Gallon size)

Lupe got his new Joe Montana Jersy and Paulette made him some slippers (she is the greatest friend), plus she sent me a cute Christmas ornament

I got a message from Coley that she got the package I sent her to Scotland for Christmas and the cutest girl in the world (Mia) loves her USA Sour Patch Kids (she says the scotland ones are not the same).

Now, before I give you a huge dump of wedding photos....I just want to say the cold sucks.  Here is my Flower who also thinks it is too cold...LOL!

Because you know, I am crazy like that!

 Hey everyone!  How have y'all been!  I know I said I would be better this year with updating my blog, so I am sorry it has been over 2 weeks.....but I have been productive on the knitting/crocheting front!

First......I started a new KAL (because you know, I am crazy like that).  This KAL was with Knit Pro and Knitters Pride to win a set of needles, and (I am sorry to be brutally honest here) it is the worst KAL I have ever done.  The pattern is all over the place and my friend, Paulette, from Canada so joined and I think she has tinked over a dozen times because the last chart does not work....and many other ppl have said they can't get it to work either...the suspicious thing is there are 3 finishers and I can't help but think they just 'fudged' the pattern to get it to work....which is totally frustrating to me!  Anyway, I am still debating on whether to finish it or not.....

I finished Darlene's Birthday Present....and it looks great on her (the coloring is off on a few pics, it is hard to photograph)!

I have some pics of my big baby in bed.....and Paige got him a new toy he loves

I also got my yarn for the monthly blanket from Jimmy Beans Wool.....the whole blanket will been Malabrigo Rios.....the pattern has two increases that really cause ladders....but, the designer meant for that to be the case....she said if you pull it the way the pattern will be, the ladders will disappear and she was right.....its pretty cool

My friend, Melissa that I podcast with, told me about a new energy boost drink...and I got some....they are really tasty!  I ordered more in Coconut and Dragon Fruit

I also got some green and yellow grapefruits....they were yummy!

I got some of this tea as a Christmas gift and loved it so much, I bought more!

My birthday yarn from Darlene came in!  I LOVE IT!

Paige and her besties went on a date....I love these girls (from left to right, Paige, Bizz, Sam):

I had a friend contact me and asked me to help her start a project....she is using Lion Brand Summer Nights yarn to make a Botanical Lace Wrap....so I rewound the yarn (I cannot pull from the outside of the commercially wound skein) and re-started (she had a couple oop's) the wrap for her...I will only do like 48 rows and then give it back...she needed some 'substance' on the needles to get going.  She is new to lace knitting:

I finally got a vaccine appointment for my mom (she was vaccinated this past Friday) and my dad has an appointment on Tuesday the 9th of February.....Yahoo!!

I finished crocheting my Author Friend's wrap....I have seamed on the pockets and just need to add the fringe (I hope to do that in a day or two so I can get it in the mail to her)!

and I started a new San Francisco 49'ers blanket....I will be on black for forever, but this will just be a small 3 foot by 3 foot lap blanket with the logo.
