Fallen Down the Sourdough Hole!

Hey everyone!  I hope yare are all well!  I am happy to annouce I have fallen down the sourdough hole!

My friend, Tami, gave me some of her starter (named Hilda) when we were at the lakehouse last weekend and she taught me how to make some sourdough bread and how to feed my starter (named Bruno) and do all the amazing sourdough things.  Well, I came home and finally made my own bread on my own (2 loaves).

I also made one of my favoties meals lately....not sure if you have seen the sweet potato, ground beef, cottage cheese, avocado, hot honey meal.....but here it is......it is super yummy!

Last week I mentioned that while at the lakehouse we (Darlene and I) saw Jennifer starting a gorgous sweater called Wilfreda....we ordered yarn and mine arrived.  Darlene's has not yet, so we are not starting till hers gets here....but I am in love with the yarn and I even knit a swatch (shhhhhhh!).

I think I also told you about a test knit I am doing....it is not a secret, so here it is after 2 clues/designs (I am not using beads)

I have also worked my booty off on my sister's ledberg and I am SUPER CLOSE to finishing it.

I hae a KAL starting this Friday.  Feel free to join me here.

Lupe and I are still walking the trails by our home....and recently we went "off trail" so semi-hiking.  Someone also fed the deer some corn.....I wish they would have sprinkled it off the trail, but it was beautiful to see them all eating!

I think that is all I have......today is Kody's birthday, so Happy Birthday Kody!  Y'all have a great week!

Crazy Test Knitting Preparation

Hey everyone....how are you?  I am crazy.....but ya'll already knew that.  Last week Darlene spotted a test knit call on Instagram from Dragon Hoard Yarns.

So then I spent Sunday looking through my stash for yarn (the middle 2 colors are main color)

Any thoughts?  Suggestions?  I think the winner will be the 2nd picture.

Other than that.....I finished the crochet blanket....pretty much the only thing I worked on this past week:

I started a new double the baby size crochet blanket for Darlene to make Kagan.  This is a new to us yarn called Amore and it is 100% polyester....it feels great!  Darlene usually likes me to get them started.....this is a new pattern for Darlene so once the additional colors that she ordered come in, I will show her how to do it.  It is a nice and relaxing crochet!

Antonio had a soccer game this past Saturday and they did amazing!

And I did some cleaning (excuse the mess).....Bruno does not like the vacuum.....he was gonna keep us all safe from it!

Well, that is really all I have.  I do not think we get the test knit first round instructions till Friday so this week I will work on my Vortex and my daddy's vest.  Have a great week!

The new love story coming soon

Next is the release of E.L. James' new book called The Mister.  I already have it preordered on Audible....I wish Zachary Webber was the narrator, but he is not.....Zachary Webber can read Webster's Dictionary to me and it would make me melt!

I hope it is the new love story.....I was not a fifty shades fan at first like more than 12 the world was....but once I listened to it....I was hooked....I hope The Mister is just as great!

I have a few more pics from 2 weekends ago at the beach.....this is the boys with their friend (and like a son to me) Robert.  Plus pics of the boys with their girlfriends.

I made some cookies last Monday after I blogged.  I did not have almond extract, so I used Lemon Extract so the cookies taste a little lemony...the recipe is called a basic sugar cookie recipe, but it tastes like a shortbread cookie to me.....they are sheep shaped!

I also might have a new member of the family.....I say might because I am not sue he really likes me.....His name is Bruno and he is Star's dog.  Star's ex husband has been watching him for years but he was going to take Bruno to a shelter so Start took him back...but Nick said she cannot keep him....so I told her I would take him.....but I am really not sure if he likes me.  He loves Jaime....just not me.  LOL!  We will see how it goes for the next week or so.

I have a designer friend on ravelry from Norway that was recently diagnosed with Cancer.  She has a KAL in her group to help raise funds for her treatment.  Her name is Anja and she is an amazing designer.  I am going to make the Taraxacum mitts and then hopefully also make the shawl when the pattern is released (it is being tested right now).

I started in the Confident colorway, but I think I might start over in the Bussi colorway!

I know this is a middle of the week post....but I have been dealing with a bit of depression lately....so I thought a blog post would help.  I am constantly tired (yes, my dr is running tests).  I do not know if the depression is making me tired or the being tired is making me depressed......but some good thoughts sent my way would be appreciated.

Have a great week!
