Happy 80th Birthday Daddy!

I am posting my blog Sunday evening instead of Monday morning because I will be at a conference Mon - Thurs.

My Daddy turns 80 on Tuesday and we had a big party for him this past Saturday evening at my sister's house.  Lots of friends and family and even some family from out of town.  We had a great time.  I love you Daddy!

Here is a picture of the invite.....and then a few pics from Thursday Evening dinner....I will have more picture overload at the end of this blog post.

So, what did I do this week?  Well, my last 4 days have kind of been shot when it comes to knitting...Thursday night was dinner at my parents to see family that flew in (pictures above), Friday night I had Antonio and we played games, Saturday it was time to prep for the party and go to the party, and then today I spent driving to my destination....a Data Conference for work.

However, I was able to finish my February Socks just in time.....

My March Socks will be Zombody's Late!

I got these socks started and here is a picture of what they look like on the website for purchase and what mine look like....I do not see very much of that light purple color in my socks, so I hope some more of it shows later on...

I also worked on my secret test knit, but cannot show you a picture.

The wedding is 5 weeks and 5 days away.....so I have to get going on my Southern Skies Shawl....here is the progress so far!

This week I am at a conference all week, so I hope I get lots of evening hotel room knitting.

Here is my view on the drive here and my room (for lots of knitting).

Oh, and because I suck at any kind of diet, I ordered two skeins of this yarn....I love it!  I have no clue what I am going to make with it, but I just had to get it....it called my name!

That is it for knitting, but before my party picture overload, I got a visit from Celeste and Cataleya this week....they were going fishing this past weekend, so Celeste had to come by to get her fishing pole!

Here is my picture overload from the party....some pictures are of other pictures (and you will see a glare) of my dad when he was younger and his wedding and one with me as a little girls, etc...the rest are of the people/family at the party.

Happy Happy Happy Knitting everyone!

  1. What a wonderful celebration! I have celebrated my birthday at my granny’s place since the day I was born and I don’t feel like doing it without her and after going through this post, I realized how much I miss her. I will be booking one of the Chicago venues for making her birthday special this time.
