Hello all my followers out there (LOL).  How has your week been?  How's the knitting?  Yesterday was my birthday and I had a great birthday....thank you to all who sent me birthday wishes.  I had one friend make me a special card I wanted to share with everyone....I just love it!!  She said the flower reminded her of YARN!  Yeah!

My knitting has slowed down since I finished the Lazy Girl Shawl....and, I actually already have yarn to make another one (yes, I am crazy addicted to knitting...hence the name, knitphomaniac)!

Here are the colors for my next Lazy Girl Shawl (Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere in Black Pearl and Jitterbug in Sahara):

I have been SLOWLY working on my January Socks....the deadline is in 2 days (the 28th) and I do not think I will make it....here is their progress:

I have also wanted some 'no think' knitting, so I pulled out my nuvem....I have only done about 50 grams of 300+, but hey, at least I pulled it out and knitted a little on it.  I have a friend making this (she is a speed knitter) and she just did the HUGE increase row...now she just has 6 rounds and binding off....she said all the stitches barely fit on a 47" circular....YIKES!  It just looks like a big lump of yarn, but here is a pic of my progress:

I leave you with pics of my daughter with her son (my angel grandson, Antonio).....they make me smile everyday (along with my knitting)!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Hello Everyone.  I have had lots going on.  I finished Lazy Girl, my daughter graduated from high school and started 'college' and I had a great mini vacation to look at some property in New Mexico.

Here is a picture of my property in NM:

I love the view of the Florida Mountains.....I am thinking this may be my retirement spot.  The drive was long (10 hours each way) so I will not be visiting a lot, but will try to go back soon ;)

On the knitting front, I got some new yarn from Rohrspatz & Wollmeise...it is in the We're Different lot "For Princesses" but I love it!  I am not sure what I am going to make with it.  It is more pink than red.

I also finished a scarf for Paige that I started in September of last year.  Yes, I made her wait too long for it.  I am going to try to get some UFO's off the needles, but Martina Behm came out with a new pattern called "Viajante" that I LOVE.....I think I will start a KAL for it that a ravelry group has posted. it starts March 2nd....now I just need to decide what color to make it in.

Here is the scarf:

I also did a test knit for a Mini iPad cover and finished it....it is just lacking the button:

And.....My Lazy Girl is also DONE!  Yippee!  I really liked this pattern so much, I am going to start another lazy girl shawl soon (because I have startitis)....I wore this one to my daughter's graduation ceremony!

Here is my gorgeous daughter (yes, I am biased) in her cap and gown.....I am sooooooo proud of her!

And here she is with her best friend, Bizzle, after the ceremony.....we went out to eat at the Cheesecake factory with 5 or 6 of her friends.

That is it for now....Happy Wednesday (Hump Day) Everyone!

Let me start with "Happy Valentine's Day Everyone"  To all the partners of fiber enthusiasts....remember:

About a month ago, my grandson was in the hospital with RSV and I made him a beanie to keep his head warm.  As promised, here is the pattern:

RSV Beanie

I made this beanie for my grandson when he had RSV.  When he was 4 months old, he had RSV and he had plenty of hats that I had made him while my daughter was pregnant with him.  As he got older, he outgrew the hats, and we live in South Texas so it does not usually get too cold to need a warm hat.  Well, at almost 14 months, he got RSV again.  My daughter took him to his great grandmother’s house on his father’s side and she said, “Oh, he needs a beanie on his head, do you want me to buy one for him?”  My daughter proudly said, “No, I will have my mom make him one.”  So I present you with the pattern for the “RSV Beanie” and a pic of my grandson (with a shirt that says “Sorry Girls, Mommy says No Dating”)

Last Round: *K2tog, ssk Repeat from * till end

Cut yarn leaving a 6” tail.  Thread yarn on tapestry needle.  Run needle through all remaining stitches on hat and pull stitches together like a drawstring bag.

Weave in ends, and put on child to keep head warm.  I did not see any need to block mine, but if you want to block, you can.

Happy Thursday everyone!

Hi everyone.  Can you believe it is already February?  WOW....time flies!  I hate to admit that I have not been knitting this last week as much as I usually do.

This past Saturday, I went on a motorcycle ride with my boyfriend and some friends to Bandera, TX.  They had their 8th annual Mardi Gras parade.  It was great!!!  I saw this cute dachshund with a boa on....I had to snap a picture (can you see the cute dog in the center?  Sorry I could not zoom!).

Sunday it was time to get ready for the big game....I was rooting for the Ravens amongst many 49er fans.  But I prevailed in the long run.  I was able to do about 7 pattern repeats during the game on my lazy girl shawl.  You can see that the decrease is coming along nicely.

I have also been working on the Socks for January SKA (I will get pics later) and I finished the sweater for my grand daughter's aunt's baby:

I also got my taxes done this past weekend.....Yippee!  I am glad that is out of the way.  I hope to get lots of knitting done this week and have lots of pics for you next week.

Happy Monday Everyone!

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Well Hello everyone.  I have been sick lately with what I think is a bad sinus infection.  I go to the dr today so hopefully I get some good meds for it.  I finished some socks this past weekend.  My daughter really likes anklet or "No Show" socks, so I made them short:

Also, my granddaughter's aunt is in the hospital and had a baby yesterday....a cute little girl....so I found this sweater on ravelry to knit....ran to Hobby Lobby to get some if the "I Love This Yarn" in pink because I did not have any suitable pink in my stash (Mostly orange...go figure)....the pattern says it is a "Quickie 5-hour sweater" but it has taken me over 5 hours so far....just about 4 rows to go on the bottom and then the sleeves....it is quick, but not quite 5 hours (at least not for me).....

I wanted to make one of these patterns below but ravelry would not let me pay with pay pal all day yesterday....so I bought them today...I may be making them in the future:

The Lazy Girl KAL is coming along really well.  Here are some pics of the ladies' shawls from my group.

Jo's (sorry for the sun glare):

Erin's:

I am on the decrease of mine...but I have not taken a recent picture....I will have to do that soon and share with you.

Lastly....a picture of the happy grandson coloring.....he is just the cutest (I know I am biased):

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Can you believe we are already on January 22nd?

I have been super busy.  My Grandson, Antonio, had to go tot he Emergency room twice about a week ago.  Long story short, he has RSV....he has been out of daycare this past week (the 14th to 18th)....Yesterday was his first day back and he is doing much better.  When my daughter was taking him to his great grandmother's house one day for baby sitting, she mentioned that he needed a beanie and she could buy one for him....but my daughter said "No, that is ok.  My mom will make him one." and so the RSV Beanie was invented.  I hope to get pictures of him modeling it and then I will post the pattern here.

My allergies have been bothering me since mid December....but this past weekend was one of the worst weekends I have had in a while (lots and lots of kleenex used).  But I still had a nice long weekend and I got through the 1/2 way point of my Lazy Girl Shawl.  I had originally set yesterday as the deadline for this KAL, but thank goodness we bumped the finish date to March 1.

I am still doing 2 pairs of socks this month.  One is a KAL where I only get the clues on Thursdays and it needs to be finished by the 31st.

And one I can finish by February 28th and still be eligible.  I am really loving the way the yarn looks on the red/tan/orange.

A couple of weeks ago I ordered 3 sets of the Lace Colourbag by Wollmeise (link here)...well, they were on my desk when I got to work today.  I had ordered 3 sets because I had a feeling that two of my knitting buddies would want one each.....boy was I right....Darlene snagged up Set Number One and Evelyn took Set number Eleven which left me with Set Number Eight (that has the tandoori masala yarn of course!)  I love the little bag it came in ;)

Oh Yeah....I forgot to tell you guys....a while back I was looking through the solid socks group on ravelry for January socks (January's color is yellow) and I saw 3 or 4 pairs of socks being made with this color called "School Bus On Acid".  I loved it so I inquired where they all got it.  Well, it turns out it was a sock club and I could not get the yarn.  There was a lady that contacted me and said that it was a long story but she ended up with 2 and she would send it to me if I sent her my address.  Well, I did send her my address and she is SOOOOOO awesome to send it to me.  I love it and the picture does not do it justice!  Thank you Jeny from Scotland!!!  I can't wait to make socks with it.

Lastly, a knitting friend of mine posted this on my facebook page and said "This is for you!".....I love her for thinking of me!

Happy Tuesday everyone....I hope to post more progress soon!

Happy New Year!  It has been far too long since I have posted.  I have been trying to post for a while, but every time I would try to post, I could not attach any pictures!  Now, how likes to read a post without at lease SOME pictures!  So, at first I just did not post, but blogger is still having the same issue, so I am trying to post via Chrome now.

I finished those socks for a friend:

And I FINALLY finished a pair of socks for my daughter's best friend.  They were challenging, but the final outcome is so worth it!

My Lazy Girl KAL is coming along....and the MOST EXCITING thing ever happened.  So, I have the San Antonio Stitch N Bitch Group as a Ravelry Group and we have a couple of forums going on (our members are not the biggest ravelry users, but I am working on trying to change it).  In the forum for the Lazy Girl Kal....the designer herself (Megan Peters) was cyber spying on us and is thrilled we chose her pattern for the KAL....I am thrilled she was cyber spying on her.  She said her yarn store (Yellow House Yarns) would like to donate some prizes.....HOW EXCITING IS THAT?  I am just tickled about it!

Here is the Lazy Girl progress:

I also cast on for two pairs of socks.  The Yellow Pair is a KAL with Michelle Hunter called Crimple, I am making them Yellow because they will also count as my entry in the Solid Socks group on Ravelry for my January Sock (January color is Yellow).

Then, here is January's sock for Sock Knitters Anonymous group....this is my Flying Saucer yarn I have been dying to use!  I am loving the way it is working up.

I had a lot of people ask me about the things on my balls of yarn.  They are Yarn Cozy's.  My friend got them for me at our LYS, but you can get them on Amazon Here.  I have been referring a lot of people to get them here....I wish Buffy Ann's designs would give me a free set or two for all the referrals...lol!

Lastly, I leave you with a cute picture I found on facebook.

Happy Thursday everyone!
