Guess Who's 14?!?!?!?!

Happy Birthday Antonio!  I cannot believe he is 14....but he is more amazing then I ever dreamed and the best big brother ever!!!

As far as knitting and crocheting, I finished one more pattern on the test knit (it was the only one I got this week), and I made some more squares for Antonio's blanket.....

I also changed the way I get my yarn....My yarn was getting too much dog hair and dust as it waited for me to pull it out of a project bag.....so, this was created.  It only holds 12 of 16, so 4 are in a ziplock bag.

I went to go see them this past Wednesday to give Antonio birthday cash from me, Lupe, and my sister....and I know you are not going to find this hard to believe, but I got a picture of Amira and not of Antonio.....typical me.  Here is Amira

She also got a pic snapped at her daycare and Paige shared it with me....she is so adorable!!!

I also got an adorable picture of Mia

I meal prepped a new breakfast that is delicious

and found a cool "wrap" online....made with cheese and pepperoni...then I put Turkey and Arugula inside.

Lastly, I worked on the sweater for Vera

That is all I have....except a beutiful sun bathing beauty...have a great week!

Some Cooler Mornings :)

Hello everyone!  I hope you are all doing well.  Here in SA, we have had a few mornings that were nice and cooler than usual.  Cool enough that I opened my windows in the morning, even if only for an hour or 2.  The afternoons are still pretty hot, but I will take the cooler mornings for now.

I got an amazing package from my Fiber Fairy.  The yarn is amazing and I am already using the Bucks Needle point protectors.  Thank you Fiber Fairy!

My sister is a grandma!  Yahoo.  Sean and Leilani asked us not to put anything out on social media....and while I am not sure if a blog is considered 'social media', I will put just this one non identifiying pic.  Congrats to my sister and Jim!   Welcome Jonah Shea Flynn!

Lupe and I have not really done many walks/hikes or other events since he started working....which is fine, but he wanted to do something.  So, we both took part of the day off on Friday and we went bowling.  I won the first game (barely) but he won the next 2.

Then we went on a walk/hike on Saturday

He also wanted to go see his mon's final resting place.  He had not had a chance to go since the funeral, so we went.

I also got some great pics of Amira at the zoo....she enjoyed it!

As far as knitting/crocheting.  I finally got the first 2 patterns to do the test knit for Brigit's Annual Advent Stole.  I have only done the first 2 patterns, but they can be time consuming.....but they are secret so I cannot show you....but I can show you the yarn and beads I am using.

Then, I worked on more squares for Antonio's AI blanket....these go slow for me, so while I know it does not look like a lot.....they took me forever.  You can also probably see that on one of the squares I forgot to put a checkmark on my paper of random numbers and I made one square twice.  Oh well.

Lastly, I started a sweater for Lupe's friend's daughter.  Her name is Vera and when we went to their Air bnb a while back, she saw me knitting on a sweater and asked me for one in purple.  This is the only purple I have.  The pattern is called Monday Sweater Junior and the yarn is Miss Babs Yowza in the Batton Twirl colorway.

Antonio is going to be 14 this coming Thursday....I cannot wait to go see him and tell him Happy Birthday.  I am getting his cash (his request) so he can go thrifting/shopping.

I hope yall have a great week!

Happy Columbus/Indigenious People's Day!

Hello and Happy Columbus/Indigenious People's Day!

I have the day off, but Lupe had to work....so what have I been up to?  Well, do you remember the sock and hat set I am making for Mia?  Well, this hat has had me from day one.

I was chugging along and realized a missed part of the pattern repeat

So, I tinked it and got to the hat decreases....I went to go read the pattern and it turns out I was supposed to increase to a much larger size needle for the body of the hat.  I did the ribbing in 6 and then went up to 7 for body, but I should have gone up to 10.5....ouch.  I ripped an restarted.

I ended up making the same mistake again (missing part of the pattern repeat....but I got through it all finally and then blocked it all.  This is for Coley to take home.  The green socks are for Coley's best friend, Claire and the blue set is for Mia.

Lupe gets "points" at work and then he can redeem points for merchandise.....so he got us a robot vacuum.....we are both in love.  We set it to go off at 10 pm......it does pretty good for a free robot!

Then I decided to finish Lily's blanket and it came out fine with 4 skeins of bulky, so I have enough yarn to make another one of these.

After finishing the crocheting on Lily's blanket I pulled out Antonio's.....I got to putting it together and it looks great. I need to get back on to making more squares....I am gonna try to work on only that all week....we will see how it goes.  It is not as mindless as knitting, so I guess it just depends on how busy and brain draining my work week is.

Well, that is about all I have.....I think Paige wants to order a new iPhone 17.  I told her I would order it but I had to bribe her to tell her that with the new and amazing camera, she needs to send me more pics of the kiddos.....it got her to send me some more of the kids.  Amira is so adorable and Tone is the best big brother ever!!

Lastly, I am not sure if I told you all about the new nail kit I got myself.  I am not the best at doing my own nails, but Lupe's friend's wife told me about this kit that you put powder on your nails....I looked into it.  It is called Sistaco and there is a whole group of ppl obsessed with this nail kit.  I got the basic one, but I have already ordered some accessories that I know will help.  You can mix and match different powders for different looks....You can google Sistaco or search it on instagram or facebook....it is really pretty cool.  I will probably give away all my gel nail stuff.  Here is my first nail.  I have since done all my nails but it is super hard to take pics of your own manicure....LOL!

Have a great week.....here is a pic of the hunter's moon and I just love the detail that my camera was able to capture.
