Merry Knitmas!!

 Hey everyone!  Merry Knitmas! Do you have all your knitting for Christmas completed?

Well, I do not.....I have been making my ornaments and I took one to Ped this past Friday.

He sent me a pic of it on his tree!

And here are some words of wisdom from Sam's kids (she usually sees Ped before me) on Ped's board

I finished the 2nd hat which is for Lupe

Then, Lupe went to get his hair cut this past week and his barber's son had his 8th birthday yesterday so he texted me and asked if I could make him a hat.....so viola!

But I am behind on my ornaments for the neighbors...I am about 1 1/4 behind.

I am also behind on my advents (except my tea one)...I need to knit the 17th and forward on my London Wrap, and I am still only through day 6 on my Grayscale Pop.

I have been making some cookies this week....I guess I had a sweet tooth but it sure would be nice if they made recipes for just 2 cookies....LOL!

Elizabeth had our knitting girls christmas party this past Sunday.....her new home is just gorgeous and it was great seeing all my knitting friends.

I got lots of amazing gifts from friends

and my fiber fairy was Melissa and she got me the most amazing hand made Longhorn mug

I also got a fabulous picture of Mia

and here are my babies taking a nap (on my bed....don't tell Lupe....LOL!)

and Lupe got a surprise gift from Coca Cola

Lastly.....I can finally show you my advent stole that I test knit......it is gorgeous and already in Darlene's hands....thankfully, she loves it and all the items I knit for her.

Happy Columbus/Indigenious People's Day!

Hello and Happy Columbus/Indigenious People's Day!

I have the day off, but Lupe had to work....so what have I been up to?  Well, do you remember the sock and hat set I am making for Mia?  Well, this hat has had me from day one.

I was chugging along and realized a missed part of the pattern repeat

So, I tinked it and got to the hat decreases....I went to go read the pattern and it turns out I was supposed to increase to a much larger size needle for the body of the hat.  I did the ribbing in 6 and then went up to 7 for body, but I should have gone up to 10.5....ouch.  I ripped an restarted.

I ended up making the same mistake again (missing part of the pattern repeat....but I got through it all finally and then blocked it all.  This is for Coley to take home.  The green socks are for Coley's best friend, Claire and the blue set is for Mia.

Lupe gets "points" at work and then he can redeem points for merchandise.....so he got us a robot vacuum.....we are both in love.  We set it to go off at 10 pm......it does pretty good for a free robot!

Then I decided to finish Lily's blanket and it came out fine with 4 skeins of bulky, so I have enough yarn to make another one of these.

After finishing the crocheting on Lily's blanket I pulled out Antonio's.....I got to putting it together and it looks great. I need to get back on to making more squares....I am gonna try to work on only that all week....we will see how it goes.  It is not as mindless as knitting, so I guess it just depends on how busy and brain draining my work week is.

Well, that is about all I have.....I think Paige wants to order a new iPhone 17.  I told her I would order it but I had to bribe her to tell her that with the new and amazing camera, she needs to send me more pics of the kiddos.....it got her to send me some more of the kids.  Amira is so adorable and Tone is the best big brother ever!!

Lastly, I am not sure if I told you all about the new nail kit I got myself.  I am not the best at doing my own nails, but Lupe's friend's wife told me about this kit that you put powder on your nails....I looked into it.  It is called Sistaco and there is a whole group of ppl obsessed with this nail kit.  I got the basic one, but I have already ordered some accessories that I know will help.  You can mix and match different powders for different looks....You can google Sistaco or search it on instagram or facebook....it is really pretty cool.  I will probably give away all my gel nail stuff.  Here is my first nail.  I have since done all my nails but it is super hard to take pics of your own manicure....LOL!

It's coming back!

Hey everyone!  How are you?  I am happy to report that my mojo might be coming back.  Nothing like new yarn to give your mojo a shock to get it going!

I started a hat with the new yarn I got that I mentioned last blog post.  I am in love with this yarn.  It is so pretty and I love knitting with it and watching the specks of color show up.

I also ordered some yarn to make socks and hat for Mia (Coley's Goddaughter) and that yarn came in.  I love the way this was packaged....how cute!

I finished the socks (tiny feet) and started the hat!

I finished this double dip ribbed hat...not my favorite thing to knit, but I love the outcome.

I also did a big skein on this crochet blanket.  I purchased 8 skeins of yarn but the pattern calls for 4 skeins.  I am on my 4th skein but I do not think this blanket will be big enough when the 4th skein is done so I am sure I will need to use more....meaning I will not be able to get 2 blankets out of the 8 skeins.

I do not know if I mentioned that Lupe got a job at Coca-Cola....but he did and I am super proud of him to have found a career he can be happy with.....but......he is gone all day (sometimes more than 1/2 the night) so I am doing a lot of stuff on my own......like walking the dogs.  I have to walk them separately because it is a lot for me to walk them together.

and sometimes while I sit and knit (and listen to a book), I see this pretty girl just sleeping.  I am 100% sure her life is better than it was 3 years ago and that makes me incredibly happy!
