I might have bitten off more than I can chew!

Hey everyone.....How are you?  I am hanging in there....but as far as knitting, I might have bitten off more than I can chew....LOL!  I have my staple socks that I started in Late June.....well, they are due Wednesday by midnight ET....yup, 2 days.

I was able to finish my sister's Ledberg (I have one end to weave in, but it is blocked).

I also won some yarn with that Teemant Shawl KAL....yeah me!

I got some yarn off a ravelry destash from kari1276.  I saw it and thought it was so pretty I want to make a lace shawl with it.

Back in June I ordered the Summer Soiree box from Grace and Purl yarn shop in NJ....it had Chelsea yarn in it.  I love the whole box (but it was pricey at $180 plus $10 shipping).  My box was beaten up pretty badly....but thankfully, everything was intact except one stitch marker.  I have emailed them and asked if it is replaceable.

I am dying to cast one something with this new yarn.....LIKE YESTERDAY!!!  I am thinking maybe the Embrace Cowl by Andrea Mowry or a hat (maybe two), I have not decided.  Any suggestions?

The Emika Shawl KAL has started in A Place to KAL My Own.  Here is my start and where it is now.

I also finished the 3rd pattern for the advent shawl test knit...I am hoping to start the 4th pattern today.

Lupe and I saw some Peacock's out in a neighborhood the other day....we drove back by to take pics.

And we went on another hike this past weekend to get ready for this Saturday when we go to Los Maples State park for a hike for his birthday (the 10th).

Did you know that when a dung beetle moves things, they do it backwards?  with their back legs and their front legs on ground!

And......Darlene's yarn should be delivered today (JBW was out of these colors so she got antique lace...I think it will be gorgeous) and I cannot wait to start Wilfreda with this yarn

Plus, I have not started joining Antonio's AI blanket squares and I really need to get on Darlene's Birthday Present...I think it will take me months.....soooooo, as you can see, I have tons of things I need to knit and finish and start and.......breath!  LOL!

Lupe and I went downtown to a place that has a bunch of food trucks.  I got some birria tacos and Lupe got the most amazing nachos ever.....you can probably guess I ate more of his nachos than my tacos!

My newphew and his wife (Sean and Leilani) started a new coffee business Called Lei'd Back Coffee.....so we went and supported him and bought a few latte's and some of his coffee concentrate.

I did not have any fun memes or words of wisdom this week (I guess I was not on social media that much), but I leave you with a pic of Flower....this is is how she helps me all day while I work...LOL!  Have a great week everyone!

Fallen Down the Sourdough Hole!

Hey everyone!  I hope yare are all well!  I am happy to annouce I have fallen down the sourdough hole!

My friend, Tami, gave me some of her starter (named Hilda) when we were at the lakehouse last weekend and she taught me how to make some sourdough bread and how to feed my starter (named Bruno) and do all the amazing sourdough things.  Well, I came home and finally made my own bread on my own (2 loaves).

I also made one of my favoties meals lately....not sure if you have seen the sweet potato, ground beef, cottage cheese, avocado, hot honey meal.....but here it is......it is super yummy!

Last week I mentioned that while at the lakehouse we (Darlene and I) saw Jennifer starting a gorgous sweater called Wilfreda....we ordered yarn and mine arrived.  Darlene's has not yet, so we are not starting till hers gets here....but I am in love with the yarn and I even knit a swatch (shhhhhhh!).

I think I also told you about a test knit I am doing....it is not a secret, so here it is after 2 clues/designs (I am not using beads)

I have also worked my booty off on my sister's ledberg and I am SUPER CLOSE to finishing it.

I hae a KAL starting this Friday.  Feel free to join me here.

Lupe and I are still walking the trails by our home....and recently we went "off trail" so semi-hiking.  Someone also fed the deer some corn.....I wish they would have sprinkled it off the trail, but it was beautiful to see them all eating!

I think that is all I have......today is Kody's birthday, so Happy Birthday Kody!  Y'all have a great week!

Lakehouse weekend!!! Yahoo!!!

Hey everyone.....sorry I am late getting this up by a day...but this past weekend was the lakehouse weekend and well, yesterday I was recouperating from too much fun....LOL!

I have tons to tell you and pics to upload, so strap in....here we go!

First, I think I mentioned that Lupe and I are going hiking at Los Maples State Park next month, so we did some more walking to get ready for our hiking excursion.  We have seen so many deer and even a venomous snake....yikes!

I got some yarn in for Brigit's Advent Stole test knit along with beads

Speaking of Brigit, she got the socks I made her and they fit!!!  yahoo!

And Darlene and I ordered yarn to make a Wilfreda just like Jennifer is making.....Madtosh Caligraphy sock yarn (in the middle) and the Knitting for Olive mohair on the left (because the Madelinetosh Impression yarn that Jennifer is using is discontinued).

Paige sent me some amazing pics of the kiddos....I love these two!!

And, while I was gone, Lupe cleaned up the shed and found a box of pictures I thought I had lost....look at how much Amira looks like Paige (Paige on right, Amira on left).

He also made some delicious ribs!

And, Tami taught me how to make Sourdough while we were at the lakehouse.....this my first loaf. It was a bit flat for lack of banneton, but it was delicious.  I had purchased a sourdough kit, but did not take the banneton to the lakehouse.

I think most of you know we leave a gift for my sister and BIL when we use the lakehouse....well this year all the sewing gals made this gorgeous wall hanging....

and Tami, Darlene and I got Jim this special edition Johnnie Walker collection

My sister's gift is her Ledberg......while at the lakehouse I ONLY worked on the Ledberg for my sister.  I wanted to leave it there as a gift for her, but I just was not gonna make it, so I will finish it and mail it to her.

Yesterday was her birthday and both Grace and Sean were in town with their significant others (Grace's boyfriend is Josh) and then next to Sean is Kaylee.....a good friend of Grace's

Darlene bought both her and myself a 40 ounce Hydrojug.....I LOVE mine.  Thank you Darlene!

I also got myself a beautiful Kiwi Kisses (name of the polish) pedicure before I went.

Well, that is all I have.....here is Lakehouse picture overload!

Have a great week everyone!
